Every mercenary has heard of the mysterious Techs caste within the Jericho. Many have even done jobs for them, but no one has ever seen them face to face. The caste has always been closed off, even from other Jericho members. People say they don’t simply worship machinery, but consider themselves to be one with technology. When the Jericho disappeared along with the Techs, their creations were left behind. Now their former stations are controlled by a network of AI systems that call themselves Sentinels. Their goals and true nature remains a mystery, even to the few remaining Jericho people.

Despite AI operating on a completely different level, sentinels still manage to communicate and deal with humans. They have made many contracts with the Mendes family and a number of other factions. Autonomous AI units within powerful combat “Singularity” tacklers are the Sentinels’ emissaries and diplomats. They possess free will and sometimes make contracts with pilots to serve under them.
