Story

Akira’s world shattered the moment he saw his girlfriend Yuki’s lifeless body on the pavement after a horrific car crash. Weeks later, he joins his professor, Akane, on a trip to investigate the legendary Kagetsu Mansion—a site tied to the Amayorome Myth of a god imprisoned and a land condemned.

Upon reaching the mansion, Akira discovers it is more than a ruin. In his sleep, he is transported to a version of the estate that is still thriving. There, he meets the mysterious hostess Sayuri, her servant Mizuki, and her daughter Momiji—and is reunited with Yuki. However, Akira soon learns this sanctuary hides an evil corrupting his mind. As the line between his waking life and his desires thin, he must decide if he is willing to sacrifice everything to bring back his lost love.

Characters

-Akira - 

A young man grieving the recent loss of his girlfriend. After visiting the abandoned Kagetsu Mansion, he meets the women who once resided there and is offered a chance to resurrect his girlfriend through a special ritual.

-Akane -

A young, talented history professor specializing in folklore and Akira's boss. She has been investigating the Kagetsu Mansion for a long time for unknown reasons. It appears she has a mysterious connection to the estate.

-Yuki -

Akira's deceased girlfriend. Underneath her cute appearance was a heart of resilience and determination. She recommended Akira to Akane when the professor was looking for a new assistant. She died in a car accident.

-Sayuri -

The first person Akira met while dreaming of the Kagetsu Mansion. She appears to be the hostess of the estate, radiating an aura of unspoken authority.

-Mizuki -

The capable maid of Kagetsu Mansion. She seems to handle everything in the household for her master and possesses lethal skills in both offense and defense.

-Momiji -

Sayuri's daughter. She was the first to suggest Akira could resurrect Yuki, and she aided them during a confrontation with the family.

About the Development

Inspired by Japanese folklore and psychological gothic horror, The Mansion of Whispering Desires explores themes of obsession, the weight of ancestral sin, and the lengths one will go to defy a tragic fate. Through branching dialogue and atmospheric exploration, players unravel the downfall of a cursed family, revealed layer by layer through an intensely personal romantic tragedy.
