What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The Left Eye is a story-driven game released in a serialized format. Each episode builds on the last, narratively and mechanically, and Early Access lets us share episodes as they’re finished and hear what players think. Player feedback will allow us to tweak, polish, and improve earlier episodes along the way.

Our goal is to tell a complete, finished story across six episodes. ”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to remain in Early Access until all six episodes are released. The first two episodes are complete and playable now, and work is underway on episode three. The full plot arc of the game has been planned and outlined.

New episodes will be added as major content updates when they are completed, and we anticipate that all episodes will be finished and available by late 2027.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We are planning for the full version to include six episodes, each around 10,000 words long, with their own sets of unlockable CGs, codex entries, and Steam achievements. We also intend to add further branching and narrative variation based on player choices.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Episodes one and two are finished and fully playable for a total of approximately 20000 words, around 20 unlockable CGs, and 28 unlockable codex entries.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We intend to slightly raise the price as new episodes are released.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will be reviewing and responding to feedback via our social media accounts (Bluesky and Tumblr) and discussions on the Steam Community forums. Feedback will help us polish existing episodes and make future episodes even better.”

About This Game

It's 1926 in New York City...

...and Emile de la Roche is many things to many people.  A French aristocrat, leaving a slew of proposals unanswered in Calais.  A visiting bon vivant, sampling the finest of the Big Apple.  The 'Queen of France', a performer and fleeting star of the pansy scene.

The truth?  Emile de la Roche is an illiterate con artist.

He might not even be French.

Enter: The Mark

And then Emile meets Alex Warren, a mobster's closeted son exiled from Seattle when family affairs got messy.  Rich, naïve and out of his depth in New York's underworld, it should be easy to rip him off and hop the next train.

And that's precisely what Emile and Jackie, his best friend and fixer, intend to do.

But you know how these stories go, right?

Nothing's ever that easy

Our heroes are con artists, thieves, and murderers. They’re Great War deserters and draft dodgers, carrying night terrors and trauma, and they're lying to survive every day.

In an era where prohibition forced the best of high society down into the same underground drinking holes as the lowest of the low, they may rub shoulders with old money or mobsters... but they're always faking it.
