Smooth 2D Pixelart animation combined with crusty pre-rendered 3D, harkening back to 90s games. Inspired by colorful cell-animated cartoons/anime, the Horror Movie Boom, and Young Adult novels.

• Classic deliberate platforming with a modern touch

Platforming feels heavy and methodical, with emphasize on realistic grounded movement. Where actions have commitment and must be considered beforehand. With the addition of modern adjustments to soften the rough edges.

• Multiple gameplay layers

The background and foreground layers provide the player with more movement options. Hiding behind or in front of objects, shimmying across tight ledges or climbing to another floor.

• Systemic Horror

The monsters move around the map freely with almost as much movement options as the player, untied to strict patterns. They use sense-based systems to actually find the player and hunt them down.

An overarching director system governs an ebb and flow in tension, keeping the horror fresh and unpredictable.

• Stamina Management

Stamina functions as health, falling from great heights or getting caught by monsters reduces its maximum value. This means taking damage limits movement options, increasing the danger.
