Why Early Access?

“Fractured Realms has a large, playable core, but there is a lot more we want to build. We are still adding major content like a full quest and story layer, our Atlas world map, more items and gear, new raids, and additional skills and systems. A game this size is shaped best by the people who actually play it, the same way OSRS grows through its community. Early Access lets us build that future content alongside players, openly, with their input guiding what we make and how it works.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Roughly 6 months to a year. That gives us time to bring players in, build the major content that is still planned, act on community feedback, and get the game into the shape we want for a full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will be considerably larger than the Early Access build. We plan to add a full quest and story layer, our Atlas world map, new raids and end-game content, a much wider range of items and gear with unique effects, and additional skills and systems over time. The Early Access build is the foundation we are starting from, not the finished game, and a lot of what we add will be directed by player feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core game is playable, with over 20 skills, real-time combat across multiple zones, dungeons, raids, an outpost upgrade system, and a Cartography map system that unlocks content across the other skills. See the About This Game section above for the full current feature list. This is the foundation we are actively building on, with major content like quests, a story layer, more items and more raids planned throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We are not currently planning to change the price when the game leaves Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Players have a direct hand in how the game develops. We run in-game polls on what to add and change, take feedback through our Discord and the Steam discussions, and watch how people actually play to learn what is working and what needs attention. Community input guides which features and content we build next, how systems are designed, and which balance and quality of life changes we prioritise, in the same spirit as how OSRS is shaped by its players.”

Rather than controlling a character in a world, you'll interact entirely through a rich user interface. From training RPG skills like Mining, Woodcutting, and Smithing to constructing your own central outpost, the entire experience is built around resource mastery, goal-setting, and long-term progression.

Your journey begins in a small corner of the fractured realms, a land scarred by ancient magic, scattered with ruins and opportunity. As you grow your outpost and develop your skills, you'll unlock new resources, expand into fresh areas, and uncover lore and secrets that slowly bring the world back to life.

Progression is structured but flexible. Players follow a general path of unlocking buildings and skills, but how you prioritize your upgrades, what you train first, and how you manage your economy is entirely up to you. There's always something to aim for, whether it's the next skill milestone, outpost tier, or rare material.
