Game Description

Masquerade is a small-scale indie AVG (adventure visual novel) inspired by scam compounds.

You will play from the first-person perspective of the protagonist, Yang, delving into the mysterious and brutal world of the so-called "Pigpen Compound."

Three years ago, under coercion from the compound, you shot and killed a medical student, thus "graduating" to become a manager.

Three years later, a trainee nurse named Yue, claiming her mother is gravely ill and in urgent need of a kidney transplant, is lured into the compound and becomes one of the "little pigs" trapped inside.

She appears gentle, obedient, and efficient in her tasks.

In this high-pressure environment, a subtle and complex relationship begins to form between you and Yue.

As you spend more time with her, you start to notice something strange—and eventually uncover her true purpose for coming here...

You will face numerous choices, torn between cruel reality and your inner conscience, gradually revealing the truth hidden beneath the surface.

Every decision you make may alter your fate and lead to vastly different endings.

Yang

A mid-level employee of the "Pigpen Compound," Yang is responsible for training and managing the “little pigs,” while also serving as the compound’s infirmary doctor.

Three years ago, you personally shot and killed a student, thus “graduating” into the role of a manager.

Since then, you’ve learned to suppress emotion, calmly carrying out the compound’s cruel rules—just to survive.

But deep inside, a flicker of conscience still lingers…

Yue

A trainee nurse deceived into the Pigpen Compound under the pretense of "seeking a kidney donor for her critically ill mother." She becomes "Little Pig No. 317."

Gentle, obedient, and efficient, Yue quickly stands out among the others.

Over time, you begin to notice something unusual about her.

In the pressure-cooker environment of the compound, a subtle connection begins to form between you.

Her presence slowly awakens the buried conscience within you—one that threatens to pull your life off its carefully numbed track…

Chuan
A seasoned employee of the compound, your colleague and long-time partner.
He was also your original "guide" when you first entered the system.
Ruthless and pragmatic, he thrives by exploiting victims, showing no mercy toward the “little pigs.”

Jing
Captain of the compound’s enforcer squad, a formidable fighter deeply trusted by upper management.
She maintains a cold exterior and abides by her own strict personal code.
You encounter her while seeking help—and she becomes a critical part of your escape plan.

Zhan
A hacker and master of cyber systems.
He once attempted to escape and paid the price—both legs severed, now wheelchair-bound.
Hidden deep within the compound, he continues his obsession with tech.
He has the ability to alter the compound’s digital records behind the scenes, making him the second key piece of your plan.
