“I chose to release in Early Access to allow myself to take more time with the game's development. This will allow me to further develop the core gameplay loop and also give players a voice on the shape and direction of the game's growth. Through Early Access I hope to gain a better scope of the player experience when including/excluding certain mechanics that can supplement or disrupt the flow of the gameplay.

I understand that the nature of a fantasy open world survival exploration game should be accessible to a wide demographic of both younger and older audiences, so I want the player to be able to jump in for five minutes and enjoy it or have the option to dig deep for hours refining their methods for survival. But that takes balance and it also takes time.

“The full version is planned to have several differences including a variety of classic Fantasy-themed races to pick from with different origin points on the island, A class system you pick during character creation that sets the bounds for your character's role in the world, similar to MMO archetypes, an expanded variety of weapons and spells to choose from, among other things. ”

“This version is playable. It includes multiplayer options, core survival mechanics, eat and drink to endure the elements, character customization, base building, weapon and armor crafting, a solid variety of enemy types to discover and a massive map to explore, which will be ever changing as development continues. ”

“As a one-man dev team, I would like to utilize Steam Discussions primarily for player feedback. The goal is to foster open communication regarding improvements to existing mechanics, bug notifications and balance issues, as well as maintaining an open environment to discuss suggestions for future implementation.

I have considered using a Discord channel to gather player feedback, but that would require a significant amount of time and effort just to keep it moderated for all to have a safe, friendly experience there, and I would rather put that time into active development.”
