What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Since Heist.exe will be demoed at Game Con Canada, I would like to give players a way to experience the game before its full release. I was originally aiming for a full release in late June this year, but there's much more to do for the game and I've realized it will not be ready for release by that point (even solo developers have multiple responsibilities and—*gasp!*—a life outside them). However, I've since learned that Early Access lets me strike a compromise between delivering the essence of the experience to players and releasing it in a state that will fully satisfy them.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“After the game launches in Early Access, it should remain in that state for about 4-5 months. I intend to update the community if this should change.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“At a baseline, my goal for the full version is to include all three of the game's planned levels—one more than the two planned for Early Access. I also intend to give it a good deal more narrative. That means players will get to experience not just a polished stealth game, but also the intrigue surrounding it and a climactic conclusion I'll try to deliver with the final level. The game may also have more artistic polish.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently, the game has two full levels (one of which even has multiple paths!), all of the player character's core actions are implemented, and the game contains two types of enemies and navigational mechanics. The latter see use not just in navigational challenges but in puzzles as well.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, pricing will change AFTER Early Access. I intend to make Heist.exe free during Early Access to open the door to as many players as possible. Afterwards, I intend to put a price on the full experience.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I'll post community updates whenever there's significant news to share about the game. In addition, the game will be playable at Game Con Canada (the weekend of June 9th), so players will have the opportunity to try it out without even downloading it themselves. I will absolutely be monitoring any feedback, reviews, etc. that I receive between then and release. Please share the aforementioned on the game's Community Hub, namely in the Reviews section. For direct questions, feel free to contact me at purplehippoprod@gmail.com.”

About This Game

Infiltrate the depths of cyberspace on a life-or-death mission to reclaim stolen valuables. Stealth around robotic guards, manipulate the surrounding environment, and retrieve your client's prized possession to ultimately escape the network. But once you snag it, the sinister NETBots will shotgun the self-destruction of their own network—all in an attempt to permanently wipe you from existence! Get in, get out, and take back what's NOT rightfully theirs.

Features

  • Play as Agent Tehsi, a professional spy who's fast on her feet and adept with machinery! You can activate terminals to open and close walls or create walkways to new heights, which also keep you safe from the sights of guards.

  • Find a possession at the end of the level, then traverse back through it in a different way! Use the very item you've retrieved by putting it on buttons that also open and close walls.

  • Avoid the robotic guards and sentries surveying the area. They'll stop at nothing to capture you and keep the possession from your grasp!

  • Be prepared to escape the network shutdown! After reclaiming the possession, an escape sequence triggers and demands that you escape before time's up. What's more, certain terminals deactivate, making escape even harder!

  • Each room has its own camera angle(s), allowing for simple yet effective observation of each challenge.

  • Enjoy two full levels of accessible and exciting gameplay! At least one additional level will be released with the full version of the game.
