SUMMARY

"Mr. Hoob!" is a vibrant 3D platformer based on the eerie charm of a fake lost media post that went semi-viral in 2025. Players control a cheerful, pink character who leaps across floating platforms and blasts golden rings from his eyes to defeat enemies. As the game unfolds, its playful tone slowly shifts into something far more ominous.

Set in a fictional remaster of a mysterious 2006 game, Mr. Hoob invites players to uncover secrets, unlock cosmetic hats, explore hidden levels, and earn achievements—all while pursuing the deeper goal of freeing the soul of the original developer, Abern Veni, who is believed to be trapped inside the game's code.

"Mr. Hoob!" is played in third person, has quirky controls (LMB/RMB to shoot rings from each eye), and a style that moves from joyful to unsettling.

PLATFORM HOPPING

You must jump from platform to platform to make your way through every level!

CONTROLS

Use WASD to Walk, SPACEBAR to Jump, LMB to shoot a ring out of your left eye, and RMB to shoot a ring out of your right eye!

FALLING

Don’t worry! If you fall you WILL respawn!

REWARDS

The player can unlock hats, levels, and achievements as they explore the game!

GAMEPLAY STYLE

It is played in third person with a cartoonish style! Be careful! Things go from happy to ominous and scary as the game progresses!

LORE

Abern Veni (played by Chad Hersh) was the creator of the game in 2006. Abern promises to visit players if they beat his game, but he unfortunately passed away due to an ailment. Fast forward to 2025 some indie game developer made a remastered version of the game that supposedly has Abern's Soul trapped inside. The players ultimate goal is to free Abern.
