What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“As a solo developer, Early Access provides me with an invaluable opportunity to gather player feedback on core gameplay mechanics, especially regarding balance and progression. The game features a combat system with multiple upgrade paths and a currency system that needs fine-tuning through real player experiences.

Early Access allows me to build this game alongside the community, ensuring the difficulty curve, wave spawning, and reward systems feel satisfying. While the core gameplay loop is complete and enjoyable, your feedback will help shape additional content and polish the experience before full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The game is expected to remain in Early Access for approximately 6-8 months. This timeframe gives me enough runway to implement community feedback, add planned features, and polish existing systems.

However, I'm committed to quality over rushing to meet arbitrary deadlines. If additional time is needed to ensure the game meets both my standards and player expectations, the Early Access period may extend slightly. I'll maintain transparent communication about development progress through regular updates.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full version we plan to expand upon the Early Access foundation with:

  • Additional enemy types with unique behaviors and attack patterns
  • More varied environments and arena layouts
  • Expanded upgrade system with new abilities
  • Multiple playable gorilla characters with unique traits
  • Enhanced visual effects and animations
  • Leaderboard and achievement systems
  • Potentially new game modes based on community feedback
  • Refined balance and progression based on player testing

The core gameplay loop is already implemented in Early Access, so new possible additions will focus on expanding content variety and depth rather than changing fundamental mechanics.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version is fully playable with:

  • Complete core gameplay loop featuring wave-based combat
  • Functional gorilla movement and combat systems
  • Multiple enemy types with AI behaviors
  • Working upgrade system between waves
  • Banana currency collection and spending mechanics
  • Ability upgrades to unlock
  • Basic UI elements and menus
  • Sound effects and preliminary music
  • Wave progression system with increasing difficulty

The game is stable with no game-breaking bugs, though you may encounter minor visual glitches or balance issues that will be addressed throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price will not change when we leave Early Access. I believe in fairly pricing the game from the start rather than increasing the cost later.

Early Access players are getting the same value as future players, plus the benefit of helping shape the game's development. Your support during Early Access is greatly appreciated, and I want to reward early adopters by ensuring they receive the full game at the same price point.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community involvement is central to the Early Access process:

  • Regular development updates through Steam announcements and social media
  • Active Discord server where I personally interact with players
  • In-game feedback system for easy bug reporting and suggestions
  • Public development roadmap that will be adjusted based on player feedback
  • Weekly developer livestreams showcasing upcoming features
  • Community polls for prioritizing certain features or content
  • Beta branches for testing major updates before full implementation
  • Highlighting community suggestions that make it into the game

I'm committed to being responsive and transparent throughout development. Your feedback on balance, difficulty, and fun factor will directly influence the game's evolution.”

About This Game

You are the gorilla.
They are the 100 men.
Only one side walks away.

The Showdown: Gorilla vs. 100 is a chaotic, over-the-top roguelike/roguelite brawler where you take on wave after wave of determined (but mostly doomed) human opponents. With physics-driven ragdoll mayhem, every punch, throw, and slam is uniquely hilarious and brutally satisfying.

🧠 Why fight 100 men?

Because the internet won't stop arguing about it.
Because science won't answer the question.
Because you're a gorilla—and gorillas don't need a reason.

💥 Features:

  • 100 men. No mercy. Face a growing variety of challenges.

  • Brutal ragdoll physics. Every hit is a spectacle thanks to dynamic animations and weighty combat.

  • Roguelike progression. Every run is different—unlock gorilla upgrades, new abilities, and arena modifiers.

  • Skill meets silliness. Easy to pick up, hard to master, and always hilarious to watch.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

This game contains cartoon-style violence as the main character, a gorilla, engages in melee combat with various enemies. Players will encounter:

Hand-to-hand combat with punching, grabbing, and throwing mechanics
Enemies being knocked down or ragdolling upon defeat
Impact effects and non-graphic hit indicators
Boss fights with more intense combat sequences

While the violence is stylized rather than realistic, players will be fighting waves of enemies throughout the game. There are no depictions of blood, gore, dismemberment, or extreme violence. The game does not contain any sexual content, drug/alcohol references, or depictions of self-harm. The content is appropriate for teenage and adult players who are comfortable with action combat games.
