Demo Released!

Hey all!

I have some fantastic news! The demo for "Shadow of the Yokai" is live and playable. Give your shot at killing hordes of creatures through procedurally generated rooms filled with traps. Culminating in a challenging boss fight with Tokugawa's enslaved Kappa. Thank you all, and I hope you enjoy the first look at "Shadow of the Yokai"!

Summary

In "Shadow of the Yokai," Navigate through atmospheric, procedurally-generated rooms filled with aggressive creatures, each more deadly than the last. Avoid fatal traps at every turn, rampaging through floods and infernos. Armed with an arsenal of weapons, engage in intense hack-and-slash combat that will test your skills and reflexes as you turn your foes into bloody-geysers. Solve challenging puzzles and unlock upgrades to enhance your abilities. Will you conquer the shadows, or will the Yokai claim your soul...?

Story

After a fatal duel for his village's sovereignty, Kazuo is left to bleed-out at the feet of the Yokai clan. Their Daimyo, Tokugawa cackles with laughter, placing a curse upon Kazuo's soul. After being reborn, Kazuo awakens to find his village under-sieged by blood-thirsty Yokai. Kazuo left only with his fists and samurai spirit, must protect his village and end Tokugawa's reign for good, no matter the cost.

Gameplay Features

• 9 Weapons to Unlock, each with their own charge-attack and special ability

• A Grappling Kunai, used to bring the fight to you or traverse the battlegrounds

• A Devastating Kick, to push away enemies and break their guard

• Many Vicious Beasts await you, everything from Undead Wolves to Thieving Kappas

• Procedurally-Generated Levels vary; trap-placement, grapple-points, climate-modifiers, and more...
