With the power of Aether, a previously unknown element, mankind was able to reach the stars and undergo through many technological breakthroughs. In their search for the precious material, explorers discovered strange, anomalous, nigh-barren planets that held seemingly limitless deposits of Aether beneath the surface.

You play as an independent operator on the harsh and dangerous surface of Largitas, one of these planets. Despite the value of its native material below the crust, many battles and skirmishes bloom on the hazardous surface. Only outcasts, criminals, the unlucky and the foolish get constrained on this planet, and you will have to fight just to survive. You get an Aether Beast, a complex, battle-ready power suit, but everyone else has one too.

Locations are procedurally generated; exploring the same location provides a different experience each time, with each one having its own unique aspects and threats. Eventually, you'll come to realize that surface of the planet has a lot more than meets the eye; if you live long enough, then perhaps you can check to see if the rumours of alien ruins on the planet hold any weight.

Battles on the surface of Largitas are deadly, but constant. Over time, use your accumulated resources to upgrade your Aether Beast and buy new weapons to gain an upper head against your opponents. Install modules into your suit to customize the way you approach encounters. However, always remember that you are never invincible.

You may start as nobody important, but that does not mean you cannot make an impact. Many people reside on the surface of Largitas; befriend some and learn their stories, whilst making enemies with others. Choose factions to fight for and ones to fight against, or juggle your relations with everyone if you wish to stay neutral. Decide the futures of those beside you, or if you live long enough, the next generation of those living on the planet.
