Why Early Access?

“Memento Medica is a unique blend of gathering, crafting, time management and roguelite elements within a non-combat RPG. Due to its unconventional mix of genres, player feedback is essential to ensuring the game is balanced and enjoyable. Early Access allows us to get player's feedback earlier in development.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect the game to be in Early Access for approximately one year. The timeline is flexible however, we'd rather take the time to properly implement features and respond to community feedback. Ultimately, the full release will be when we believe the game is finished.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to have several additional kingdoms, with a vastly expanded narrative, new biomes and some additional major systems like a companion feature. There are also planned to be additional gathering/crafting skills, recipes, materials and mini-games. Throughout the Early Access period the game will also undergo frequent polishing of existing systems, refining game balance and incorporating community feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core gameplay loop and associated systems are implemented. You can explore procedurally generated environments across several biomes, gather materials, craft items through active mini-games to cure a variety of afflictions and play through the first portion of the narrative.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the game will be priced lower during Early Access to reflect the content available. It is likely that the price will increase in the future when it has more features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will be actively monitoring the Steam forums and social media channels for player feedback and bug reports. This will help to steer the direction of development.”

About This Game

Play as Beatrice Hearthorne, a lone apothecary travelling through a plague-stricken realm. Race against time to heal suffering townsfolk as you test your skills, manage your resources, and make impossible choices.

Time is Running Out. Explore procedurally generated environments to gather essential ingredients, craft life-saving remedies and cure the afflicted before time runs out. Balance your priorities carefully; every second spent is a moment someone grows weaker.

Active Crafting System. Master a variety of minigames to create your cures. Brew potions, weave bandages, prepare meals, and more to aid the afflicted. Your skill directly impacts remedy quality. Only the finest cures can save those succumbing to the most severe afflictions.

Roguelite Progression with RPG Depth. Select temporary blessings from the divine to aid your ventures. Each upgrade gives you an advantage in your race against the clock. Fail and lose your materials, but keep your experience and coin to permanently upgrade Beatrice's skills and equipment. Every run makes you stronger for the next.

Struggle against an ever encroaching plague. Follow Beatrice's journey as a lethal plague creeps into the kingdom of Aeldenfield and overturns her world.
