Our little Xolo may be small, but his courage is boundless. Enter his world as he tries to rescue his master from the grip of ruthless Spanish conquistadors. Navigating treacherous terrain, battling sinister forces, and challenging enemies that seek to destroy all he holds dear.

However, he does not fight alone in his journey. Recognizing his fearless heart, the god Cozana grants him extraordinary shapeshifting abilities—his chance to save not only his master but an entire people. With this newfound strength, Xolo must brave the mystical yet perilous landscape, facing dangers that test his strength, spirit, and determination.

The journey ahead is treacherous; every fight is a test of strength, and every ally a spark of hope. But with each transformation, he pounces closer to his destiny.

Gameplay

Xolo is an action-Metroidvania with a strong emphasis on fast-paced melee combat similar to Hollow Knight or Nine Sols, as well as traversing the vibrant, beautiful Mesoamerican world in search of new abilities. Even without any special shapeshifting abilities, Xolo is quite a fighter! Dodge enemy attacks, lift them into the air with your unique dash attack, and lay into them with simple but intuitive melee combos. However, things get much more interesting as you explore the world and are blessed by Cozana with unique, chimeric alebrije forms. Channel the healing power of an axolotl, the crushing strength of a jaguar's pounce, and the exhilarating grappling hook abilities of a...snake?

Additionally, as you explore, you'll encounter curious little villagers who can help guide you around the map or provide insight into the lore of Xolo's world.
