One Summer Holiday is a gentle virtual vacation centered around a two week childhood getaway. Set in the British countryside of times past, play at your own pace and exactly how you please, with no punishment or penalty for going off the beaten path. Meander freely or wring every last drop from each unique day as you see fit; it's your summer holiday, after all.  

Explore a rich world full of surprise to unearth in this game of gentle sightseeing. Play at your own pace and do as much or as little as you desire. The village changes daily with different festivals, secrets, challenges and social events punctuating its routine rural life. 

Capture and archive insects and fish to fill your notebook. Brandish your bug net or fish in the streams, rivers and oceans with three distinct fishing systems to complete your collection. Photograph other wildlife to document your discoveries.

Shoot the breeze daily with a cast of over 40 characters exhibiting their own lives and stories. Daily changes and many hundreds of lines of dialogue range from the hopeful to the comedic to the deliciously mundane. 

Seek out quests and minigames hidden throughout the world. There are additional hidden object challenges, foraging goals and character chores, as well as facts about the natural world tucked away within each in-game day.

My primary focus with OSH has been to create a living, breathing world and a likeable cast of characters with relatable experiences and patter; all for a bit of virtual escapism with depth and reward. One of the biggest motivators for making OSH has been to channel my enjoyment of nature and experiences of living rurally into a work that effectively shares that positive feeling to others. I've really loved learning to build and then lavishing detail and one-off flourishes into this game for the last decade and now it's time to take that scary step out into the wider world and share it with other people.
