What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I always wanted to learn basic strategy in Blackjack, but memorizing charts does not sound that exciting. Lucid Blackjack is a game that was born out of my desire to learn this skill in an interactive and fun way.

I am committed to finish this game as a fun trainer, but also want to hear from players what they want to see in a game like this. Players' opinions will shape this game in ways I cannot imagine right now and that is what makes the whole process of making video games so exciting!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“6-12 months”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“What I plan to add to the full game:
1. Drills for fixing either a player's hand or dealer's hand and going through all possible combinations of cards to become comfortable with making decisions using basic strategy
2. Achievements for completing basic strategy drills and achieving high score
3. Explanations and reference material explaining why basic strategy works
4. Explanations and reference material explaining card-counting in Blackjack and how this count affects decisions during the game
5. Card-counting drills
6. Leaderboards”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently the game has only one game mode where player plays a game of Blackjack using standard rules, but with basic strategy charts, hints for optimal actions, and card-counting data. ”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the price of the game will increase as we ship new content and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“A discord server for the community is coming soon. I would love to hear players' opinions and suggestions! Bug reports are welcome too!”
