You are Adam Moore, a cutthroat former Massachusetts State Police officer now FBI agent. An elusive serial killer that refers to himself as "Caligula" torments your hometown of Great Barrington. Leaving zero evidence in crime scenes besides cryptic symbols and hallucinogenic plants, the Bureau has little evidence to lead to the capture of Caligula.

CALIGULA: 1996 contains extremely mature content and subject matter. Graphic violence, torture, cannibalism, dismemberment, and gore are common throughout. Drug use, abuse, and forced non-consensual drug use is frequent. Extreme profanity is incredibly frequent. Sexual themes including sexual violence are present but infrequent. Sexual themes and imagery including BDSM equipment are very frequent. Themes of self-harm, suicide, and mental illness are frequent. Themes of abortion, miscarriage, and violence against children are infrequent. CALIGULA: 1996 is a profoundly painful experience.
