With the game being rebuilt in a new engine, mods are finally coming to further extend and customize your playthroughs. It’s the perfect platform for all the wild mods, stories, and moral quandaries that the Frostpunk community is already eager to unleash.

As Captain, you must protect humanity’s last bastion by managing a community built around the Generator, the city's only source of life-saving heat. Establish laws that regulate the existence of your growing society. Decide on their working routine, free time, food provision, and other crucial aspects of everyday life. Optimization and resource management must often clash with empathy and thoughtful decision-making. What will you do when pushed to the limit? Who will you become in the process?

A Captain must determine the path of their people. Should you rule them with an iron fist... or show them the way of compassion and hope? Some of your decisions will seem small, but be aware that the sum of your actions can lead to unexpected results. Your people trust your judgement, but their devotion is not limitless. Leadership can be a burden.

Survival demands progress. Investing resources in highly advanced infrastructure like airships, self-powered automatons, and other steampunk wonders is demanding, but achievable. You must venture beyond city limits to obtain valuable intel and precious supplies, or even grow your society’s population - there might be more survivors roaming the frostlands.

Frostpunk 1886 also brings back Endless Mode, giving you unlimited replayability on your own terms. Play on 8 various maps, with different terrains, weather conditions and challenges to face. There are 2 modes to try here, tailored to different playstyles: test yourself in the Endurance or opt for Serenity, where all pressure is gone and you can focus on the art of simply building your city.
