Sanctum: Whispers of Qingcheng is the third standalone title from Baiyujing Studio, and the latest entry in the "Next Stop" sandbox series. Built with Unreal Engine 5, it is an open-world single-player RPG featuring realistic graphics and a setting deeply rooted in Chinese mythology.

Setting the Scene

The balance of the world's primordial Qi has been disrupted, giving birth to the Five Malignancies. Following the unification by the Great Liang Dynasty, corruption festers in the hearts of men, and cults begin to rise. You are an ordinary mortal who awakens in a salt field, only to be swept into a torrential struggle between good and evil that will decide the fate of heaven and earth.

• Qingcheng Sword Immortal: Master the art of controlling swords with Qi, become one with your blade, and combine swordplay with the "Formation Laying" art to create exclusive Sword Arrays.

• Confucian Scholar: Pursue a path through the Imperial Exams (Politics) or Literary Gatherings (Jianghu). Deeply tied to the main storyline, Scholars cultivate the "Noble Spirit" (Haoran Zhengqi) specifically to suppress demons. This path integrates deeply with cultural heritage skills like Shu Embroidery, Su Brocade, Jianzhan pottery, and Lacquerwork. Imagine the clash: The elegance of "A Thousand Miles of Rivers and Mountains" embroidery versus the ferocity of the "Immortal-Slaying Sword Array"!

• Buddhist Disciple: Focus on faith inheritance and the struggle for believers. Join forces with various factions to unlock exclusive gameplay: Faction Storylines, Divine Artifacts, Sect Management, Territory Conquest, Map Construction, and ultimate Faction Warfare.

2. (Supernatural) The Nine Unorthodox Arts

• Diviner: Cast horoscopes, read the stars, and manipulate celestial phenomena (solar terms, wind, thunder, etc.).

• Corpse Refiner: A blend of Maoshan Taoist traditions and Xiangxi secret arts. Master the cycle of "Corpse Preparation, Grave Seeking, Refining, and Tribulation."

• Ghost Tamer: Inherit the legacy of Yin-Yang Masters and engage in the mysterious revival of spirits.

• Gu Master: Sorcery from the ancient Five Immortals Sect and Five Poisons Sect, utilizing venomous creatures and hexes.

II. Gameplay Mechanics (Open World)

• Choose from a wider variety of life paths and starting scenarios, offering distinct and exciting stories (building upon the protagonist origin system from our previous title).

• World Response: The identity system and rules available to the player in the previous game now apply to every NPC. Farmers work from sunrise to sunset; fishermen return to sell their catch and buy wine; a husband returns from his stall to gamble away his earnings. Every NPC has their own life, creating a unique, interactive world experience.

3. Physics:

• 24 Solar Terms: Time flows and seasons change, deeply affecting the environment and gameplay.

• True Physics: Includes real collision algorithms, inertia, and elemental interactions.
