What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I am at the stage in development where where player feedback is crucial to its success. So I want to build a community of active players around this game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“8-12 Months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to have all modes connected together into one cohesive experience.
We plan to have at least 3 Locations for the initial release, which would include location specific Laboratory, Escape, and Mining levels.
We plan to have Race mode active when out of Early Access, an asynchronous multiplayer race mode where you compete with your friends.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Please refer to the About This section for a full break down of the Game modes to have better context.
There is one Lab Location available.
The Mining mode is the bulk of the Early Access experience. There are also some Laboratory levels, a section of the Escape! mode, and some of the Workshop is also available. The Processing and Race game mode is still in early development so that will not be available initially.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the price will be discounted heavily for Early Access. I do not want to punish the people that support me at this early stage, quite the opposite actually.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Yes, absolutely! I love how communities have helped me make my games better in the past, then I could have done by myself. My prefered platform for discussion is Discord. But I engage in discourse on all the platforms I am present on, and if there is demand for me to be active in others I am always open and looking.
Links to all can be found on this page.”

About This Game

Escape a mad lab in a DIY rocket‑wheel!

Ham is a pissed off Hamster that has been subject to experiments from heartless Scientists! They are developing Brain Machine Interface Chips for the Military. But it has given Ham extra intelligence as well as being able to wirelessly interface with all kinds of electronics. He needs to escape this blasted laboratory! He augments his Hamster Wheel from his cage to escape!

The Scientists seem to always catch him and bring him back to the Lab, but that will not stop Ham! He enlists help from fellow test animals that have escaped the lab, but want to help Ham, and get revenge while they are at it! Well... they only want to help after some... persuasion from Ham.

Another piece of tech the scientists have made and are testing is the Jelloizer Gun! It turns solid masses of land into a jello like block made up of elements in the land. Ham can collect these, storing them in his Cheek pouches, and use these resources to build better wheels and attachments!

Please help him escape the dreaded Laboratory!

The game will be broken into several different game modes

  • Laboratory

  • Escape!

  • Mining

  • Processing

  • Races

  • Workshop

Game Loop

Learn and unlock upgrades in the Laboratory. Then Go to the Workshop to build out your Rocket powered Wheel. Now try to Escape! If you get caught you can go Mining to get loot to make your wheel better. Or go back to the Lab to learn new attachments! Not happy with how much resources you get, Head back to the workshop and go to the Processing game mode to increase your refining processes.

Laboratory

Puzzle like platformer levels where you learn how different attachments work and just overall movement and control. They are slower paced, allowing you to learn at your own pace.

Escape!

This is the bulk of the game, and where most of the story will be told. These are in the style of Runners. Where you keep trying to get further and further away from the lab. But there will be all manner of obstacles in your way. Which will require you to build out your Wheel in different configurations to conquer them. Obstacles like animal enemies, Boss fights, Puzzles, Platforming tests of skill, and more.
Mining
This is where you will leverage the Jelloizer Technology! It turns Solid earth into a soft destructible form that allows Ham to tear through it and collect resources. You will be able to collect loot in the Escape levels, but the bulk of loot collection will happen while mining into the earth (This is the game mode that the first version of the game will be using as I build out the others more

Workshop

Where the magic happens! The magic of building badass mechanical things that is! Not really magic I guess, that's just Science! It's where you craft all you need to get out of dodge. This is where all your "buddies" will be, to help you on your quest! It is also where several mini games will be accessible from, like Processing

Processing
Using a microscope you develop ways to better process the loot (junk/ore/etc) you find out in the world. It’s like a mini game where the better you do the more efficient your loot processing goes. A skill based game that increases your passive resource collection.

Races These will be how you can compete with your friends! Asynchronous multiplayer races against other players all over the world! Some will have locked vehicle builds, others will be open for you to use your vehicle building skills!

There is even more out there!

Build out your own custom Physics based Wheel Vehicle. Attach Rockets, Spring legs, grappling hook and so much more! There will be many different Labs you can visit around the world, maybe some will be easier than others to escape, probably not. If games have taught you anything they will just get harder and harder, but better loot!
