What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Trade Empire is a trade-focused strategy simulation game "developed by a single person", combining various mechanics to offer players a better experience.

Unlike classic strategy games, I believe it's crucial to continuously improve the game based on player feedback to create a completely trade-focused and, most importantly, exciting game. Furthermore, as this is the developer's first project and a significant portion of the budget allocated for the game has been exhausted, we decided to release Trade Empire in Early Access to make it the best game of its kind.

Please support us so we can make Trade Empire the best it can be together.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Considering the size of the game's maps, the systems planned within the game, and the possibility of new mechanics being requested by the community, reaching the full release will take at least two years.

During early access, we will update the game as planned, actively add content, and improve game mechanics.

Depending on the development and feedback process, we may consider extending the early access period or releasing the game if we deem it complete.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“While the core mechanics of the game are currently available, we plan to add additional content in the full release, inspired by community feedback.

We also aim to continue working on future graphical improvements, gameplay and opponent difficulty balance adjustments, and bug fixes during the Early Access period.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes playable content.
- Merchants can be created, heirs can be assigned by selecting family and background, and heirs can be sent for training.
- Cities' production is renewed every 2 weeks, and goods not in city stocks can be brought to the city market by external merchants.
- Goods can be transported by sea or land via more than 100 routes between cities; transported goods can be added to inventory or sold in the market.
- A tax system will be implemented based on buying and selling; penalties may apply if taxes are not paid, or loans can be obtained from the bank.
- Vehicles used on routes can be rented or purchased for a certain period. Depending on the type of danger these vehicles may encounter on their routes, it is possible to lose some or all of the goods. Additional security measures are active to counter this.
- Stats that form the basis of diplomatic relations are maintained separately for each city, and these stats allow for the acquisition of more than 75 different missions. Stat boosts can be obtained through 24 different diplomatic actions.
- The Advisor, who assists the player throughout the game, explains the game to the player in a simple way without requiring an additional tutorial.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game price is planned to increase closer to the official release date.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We welcome feedback from various sources, including Steam forums, Twitter, Discord, LinkedIn, and other social networking sites.

We actively plan to implement new content and system improvements that were not initially planned but will meet player expectations.

We believe Trade Empire will be a community-developed game rather than a one-person-developed game.”

About This Game

Trade Empire is a trade strategy simulation set in the Medieval Era "developed by a single person".

Create your merchant and start trading in the city you choose, then try to conquer trade in all cities and eliminate your rivals. Increase your prestige and influence by trading with other cities. Develop diplomatic relations to benefit from tax amnesties, port fees, warehouse and guild privileges.

Once you've conquered trade in your city, open guilds in other cities to build your own trade empire and venture into new trade.

LOCAL AND INTERCITY TRADE

Each city will have its own production and demands. By trying to meet these demands, you can increase your prestige in that city and establish a guild to sell goods directly to the people of the city you trade with in the future. In addition, you can make agreements with the city administration and gain nice privileges by meeting their demands.

ROUTES AND SECURITY

You can use ships or caravans to trade with other cities. If you are not rich enough to buy a vehicle, you can rent one at first. You can take precautions against threats that may arise on the road, place secret compartments in the vehicles, or provide protection with armed soldiers. You can also keep bandits and pirates away by paying money to well-known captains and caravan leaders, or you can bribe them to transport your goods safely. Determine your strategy according to the route you choose. You can choose a short but dangerous route to meet demands quickly, or a long but safe route to ensure the goods arrive without any problems.

DIPLOMACY

Getting a privilege for a city is not just about working for the crown. You can cooperate with rival merchants or learn what the latest popular goods are by listening to gossip. You can learn about the goods being carried by bribing caravans and ships and learn about your competitors. For cities that are embargoed, you can offer gifts to the city administration or trade even in a city that is banned from entering by bribing. Establishing a guild in a city is the first step to winning that city.

GOODS

There are over 150 products in the game, and you can either sell them when they're in stock or order them as soon as they're in demand and start trading. You can also delve into the underworld and engage in illegal activities. Ultimately, you're the merchant, and this decision is entirely up to you.
