Why Early Access?

“This is a solo indie project that’s been in development for nearly two years. I want to gather player feedback, catch major bugs, and shape the game with the community as it grows.”

“Hopefully 2-5 months”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Planned features include expanding to 10 unique biomes and 14 races, each with multiple variations to deepen team-building possibilities.
The world will become more dynamic with recurring enemy encounters, mini bosses, and event-based scenarios—such as enemies performing blood rituals or summoning rituals that give them strategic advantages.
Future updates will also explore advanced gameplay settings, including options that let players adjust how the game calculates unit actions, such as which tiles to move toward and which enemies to prioritize.
Skill modification, and possibly even custom skill creation. Example of modifications include changing the skill range, changing AOE, cooldown, adding status effect, and changing damage calculation.
Lastly, a challenge mode is planned, offering handcrafted or rule-based scenarios with specific win conditions”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently, the game features 4 distinct biomes, each with unique exclusive equipment and bosses, 8 different races, and 4 elemental skill types: Fire, Water, Earth, and Wind.
Players face endless procedurally generated floors and can build teams with unique talents, customizable skills, and gear.
The game also offers flexibility in gameplay, players can either command their units manually or let the game auto calculate player turns, turning it into an auto battler.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. I plan to gradually raise the price as new content and features are added. Buying the game during Early Access, especially as a solo indie project, means supporting development early and accepting that things may change. The lower price reflects both the risks involved and a thank you to early supporters.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Currently, I plan to leverage Steam’s built-in discussion boards to gather feedback. However, I might create a Discord server.”

About This Game

Fractured Rift is a turn-based, grid-based rogue lite where strategy and customization are key. When a mysterious rift to another world tears open, you gather a team of skilled warriors or mages and set out to explore its shifting depths.

Choose your team

Equip them with powerful gear, and enter the rift, an endless descent through procedurally generated floors filled with dangerous enemies, new biomes, and evolving challenges.

Along the way, recruit new units, unlock new skills, and shape each unit with unique talents and equipment to fit your tactical vision.

Play at your own pace

Command each move manually for full control, or let the game handle actions in auto battle mode.

Reward

After each floor, you’ll earn shards, a currency used to purchase powerful rewards in the shop, like stat-enhancing potions, crafting materials, temporary buffs, or rare skill scrolls.

Use It or Keep It

But there’s a twist: if your team is defeated, you can redeem unused items from your inventory to be used in future explorations. So you have to decide whether to use your resources now or save them for future explorations?

Whether you prefer full control or a more automated approach, the game lets you manually command your team or let them act on their own in auto battle mode. With every floor procedurally generated, every run offers new challenges and tough decisions.
