Why Early Access?

“The VR revolution is about hit consumers in a big way in 2015 and we want VR Karts to be available to all early VR adopters as soon as possible.

Steam Early Access will also allow players to help make the game by communicating directly with the development team so that VR Karts can fulfill its VR potential.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are planning on releasing the game as a fully-featured product late 2015.
As a development team, we are working on VR Karts full time in order to get the game released in time for the consumer version of the Oculus Rift.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The fully-featured version of VR Karts will have more tracks and environments as well as more visual and audio polish to give the player a great VR experience.

It will also include more weapons and pickups to help the player get to first place.

The full version of VR Karts will also feature more customisation options to give the player full control of what their kart will look like when they're racing past other opponents.

The full version will also feature online multi-player to allow the player to race against other Oculus Rift owners from all over the globe.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version is a single player experience featuring 4 tracks and 1 environment with basic kart customisation.

This will get added to periodically as we continue to develop VR Karts allowing the community to help shape the game up to final release.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The Early Access version of the game will be priced lower than the final version to encourage players to get involved and help mold the game design to the product they want.

All Steam Early Access players will be automatically upgraded to the fully featured version at no extra cost once released. ”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We want to include the community via forums to allow them to feedback on the game design, highlight any bugs to improve the overall quality of the game as well as help design the additional features of the game such as weapons, pickups and customisation.

We will set up testing sessions with Early Access players periodically to make sure the game provides a quality experience ready for the final release to the general public.”
