About This Game

Five years after leaving Kiln Bay for the big city, a half-formed memory transports Abigail to her childhood bedroom. Stranded in Kiln, Abigail must navigate her splintered friend group, calm her worried mother, and reconnect with the place that shaped her. Explore Kiln’s vibrant handcrafted neighborhoods, each with their unique way of playing the ubiquitous folk game Azulejo. In this narrative-focused game, grapple with a past that doesn’t exist anymore and flickers of a future that doesn’t belong to her.

Azulejo: The Ever-Shifting Folk Game

Azulejo is a trading card game with no numbers and ever-shifting rules that change from neighborhood to neighborhood. It’s a folk game woven through the city’s culture, taking on forms as varied as whispered conversations, fleeting memory minigames, mystical divination, catalysts for magical events, this-or-that party games, and collaborative artmaking with world-altering consequences. Now, a hyper-competitive corporatized version—slick, high-stakes, and rapidly sweeping the city—threatens to erase the vibrant idiosyncrasies of the folk variations that birthed it.

Azulejo is the heart of Kiln Bay, a game played with pictographic clay tiles that carry meaning far beyond their simple shapes. But no two neighborhoods play it the same way—its rules are molded by the beliefs, traditions, and personalities of the people who live there. To understand Kiln, you must first understand Azulejo—and to master Azulejo, you must first understand the people.

When you start playing Azulejo at the Wharf, anything could happen!

The all-new Power Azulejo threatens to change everything... the question is for better or worse?

Explore Abigail’s Handcrafted Hometown

The world of Abigail is handcrafted from felt, clay, papier-mâché, collage, glass, and countless other tangible scraps of memory. Every surface bears the mark of human touch, its seams and textures proudly visible, inviting players to feel the care stitched into every detail. These objects are animated through a blend of stop motion, 3D scanning, still photography, and a quiet touch of magic—melding the physical and the digital into a world that feels at once fragile, nostalgic, and impossibly alive.

A Story of Friendship, Change, and the Ghosts of Who We Used to Be

Before she left, Abigail was the unspoken center of her friend group—Chase, Dani, Joanna, Gabe, and Kate, her first love. Now, returning to Kiln, she finds them changed, just as she is. Some bonds have frayed, some wounds have yet to heal, and some things remain just as they were—beautiful, complicated, and unfinished. Rekindle old friendships, uncover buried tensions, and decide what kind of place Kiln will hold in Abigail’s life. Is this a return home or a final goodbye?

Abigail is a narrative-driven adventure about memory, change, and the way places shape the people who leave them behind. Featuring a richly crafted world, a unique evolving folk game, and a deeply personal story, it invites players to step into a town where art, history, and relationships are woven together—one tile at a time.
