The city of Yiqing, once left in ruins after the tsunami, has gradually been restored through years of reconstruction. On the coming weekend, the entire city will hold a grand memorial event to celebrate its rebirth. Also awaiting the weekend are Dr. Han Mowen, a renowned neurosurgeon, and his assistant and fiancée, Guan Qian. After years of love and devotion, they are finally reaching the finish line of their long journey together — with a wedding on Saturday and a honeymoon trip beginning on Sunday, both long awaited.

Everyone is filled with smiles, and everything seems to be moving in a brighter direction — until it is all cut short by a sudden explosion.

Han Mowen (played by Cui Xiaoyu)

A neurosurgery specialist. After years of pioneering research into minimally invasive deep brain surgery, his work is nearing its conclusion, just as his long-awaited wedding with his beloved fiancée approaches. Everything he has pursued for so long seems finally within reach.

Guan Qian (played by Qian Dongni)
Before becoming Han Mowen’s student, she was first saved by him as a patient, which sparked her admiration. She has long assisted his research as his aide and has now finally gained his promise — to walk with him into marriage.

He Wanlu (played by Zhang Shiqi)
Owner of Hongyu Flower Shop on Haishi Road, the most famous shopping street in Yiqing. During the tsunami, she suffered head trauma and lost her sight, but regained vision after surgery by Han Mowen’s mentor. Because of her disaster experience, her shop was chosen as the floral supplier for the city’s rebirth celebration.

Bao Rui (played by Shan Jingyao)
A rising neurosurgeon. Passionate about anime since childhood, he longs for heroic tales. Though a bit unreliable in daily life, his brilliance secured him a place in Han Mowen’s research team, where he advances rapidly. This week marks his first surgery as lead surgeon — a step closer to his dream of becoming a hero.

Zhang Feng (played by Gan Lin)
Captain of Yiqing’s criminal investigation unit. Brave and determined, he has led his team through countless cases, becoming a guardian of the city. Assigned by the mayor to oversee security for the celebration, he shoulders the heavy responsibility. At the same time, he secretly pursues an old case that fuels his anger.

Chen Jinyun (played by Xia Tian)
An outstanding thoracic surgeon, considered alongside Han Mowen as the city’s twin pillars of medicine. Rumors say the two are rivals, though reality is unclear. Chen avoids dealing with people; few truly know what he thinks or does.

Su Lanruo (played by Zhu Yunhui)
Once Chen Jinyun’s patient, she later became his most brilliant disciple. Exceptionally intelligent and accomplished, she broke all the university records once set by senior Bao Rui, which made him wary of her. Fortunately, they are in different specialties — so Bao Rui believes her excellence poses no real threat to him.

Lilim (played by Wang Yingfei)
The star maid at Moe Maid Melody, the only maid café in Yiqing. Glamorous, confident, and a little sharp-tongued, yet all the more beloved. During preparations for the celebration, Moe Maid Melody contributed greatly — thanks in no small part to Lilim.

We invited a top-tier film production team, on par with theatrical feature films, to bring the story of Yiqing City to life through live-action shooting.

In the story, the destruction and reconstruction of Yiqing intertwine with the destinies of many people. The sudden explosion acts like an invisible thread, pulling dozens of individuals into unexpected entanglements. Together with several key figures closest to the heart of the incident, we will experience this city’s week of joy and sorrow, warmth and solitude, intensity and tenderness — and feel the most moving aspects of human connection.

We do not call this work a “text adventure game,” but rather define it as a visual novel. This is because the story of Yiqing is told in a straight, sequential narrative from beginning to end. Instead of branching choices, the game introduces a unique glossary system: the entries are not merely objective explanations, but subjective reflections and essays, serving as an alternative form of communication between author and reader. These entries can be unlocked in various ways — not only by clicking keywords in dialogue, but also by finding hidden objects within the scenes, or through chained unlocking that only becomes available once earlier entries are collected. This adds a layer of playful discovery to the reading experience.

The demo does not yet include features such as bullet comments or discussion functions. These will be gradually implemented in future versions — please look forward to them.

Since completing our debut work the Melody of Iris during our student days, the two of us at GloriaWorks moved to Japan to establish our own game company. We have seen much, learned much, experienced much, accomplished much, and also missed much.

The arrival of the pandemic changed many things. It also amplified the emotions that had long been crystallizing within us, weighing heavily on our hearts, reminding us that there are unfinished stories we still wish to tell you.

Over the course of five or six years, these old feelings and new inspirations gradually condensed into this work — Flame in Glass.
