Why Early Access?

“Our previous game, Age of Rivals, benefitted greatly from player feedback throughout the development process, and we would like to do the same with Bannerlands. We want to make sure we focus on the highest impact features and content, and we can only do that with the help of the community.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“This will depend greatly on what players tell us, but probably around 6 months. We intend to listen and learn and iterate quickly to address any issues and make the game as fun as possible.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We would like to add at least 64 more cards (with more to come later) and at least 20 more story-lines and quests. We would like to add more visual polish (animations, VFX, etc...). We would like to add achievements and campaign modifiers to add even more replayability. And whatever else the community feels is important.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“All of the features currently listed in the About This Game section are fully implemented. However multiplayer is currently only local, not online. We are still iterating on content and features as players tell us what they like and don't like, so parts of the game may change.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We will likely raise the price after the game leaves Early Access, but only if we significantly add or improve features, content, and quality.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to be active on Discord, forums, and various social media channels to gather and understand player feedback. We have experience doing this for previous games and greatly enjoy the process.”

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Adobe Firefly was used to help create some art assets for the game. Often the art was further improved by hand. I chose Adobe due to their stance on Ethics in AI: https://www.adobe.com/ai/overview/ethics.html.

AI was also used to help write some of the dialog/text in the game. Often this text was written first by hand, then improved by AI, then further refined by hand again.

There is no generative AI happening while the game is running.
