The Godmothers lied to you.

They've always said that so long as you stick to your godmother-approved story, everything will work out. You'll get your happily ever after. Turns out that's not so true for you...or for a whole island full of villains and misfits.

You arrive as a bankrupt royal on the run from your kingdom’s creditors--your grandpappy King Midas really did LOVE gold. After you customize your new look (aka disguise) you'll set out to build a life on the island of Batwing. You can't go back, but maybe as you go forward you'll find friends. Companionship. Even...a found family?

But the villains of Batwing Island are being sanctioned and isolated thanks to a plague of misery mushrooms. They're a rough group to begin with, and now Stepmother Carina--the godmothers' representative--is pointing fingers and stirring up suspicion over who started the plague. Can you forge the ragtag group of outcasts into a community, and stand up to the Organization of Godmothers' rules? They've cast you out, certain none of you deserve a happily ever after, but you're about to prove them wrong.

• Grow magic crops, from ghost peppers that let you talk to ghosts, to pumpkins that ripen into jack-o-lanterns

• Create a look that's truly you–complete with tattoos and horns

• Cast aside your rusty old weapons–you’ll be searching out tool treasures such as an epic axe that takes out an entire swath of trees with one throw

• Delve into the rich stories behind Batwing Island’s 60+ upended fairytale NPCs to forge friendships, resolve fights, and create a community out of outlaws

• Take on the island’s underbelly to sleuth out the truth of who started the misery plague in a player-responsive story with mini mysteries and multiple outcomes

• Raise enchanting farm animals to restore the protective magic of the land–including tiny darling but deadly unicorns

• Discover found family as you bond with the island’s more than 60 reimagined fairy tale characters

  

• Access the island’s night market and meet your fellow creatures of the moon, with quests, NPCs, and shops that cater to the nocturnal types

• Meet and befriend island fae such as pixies, nixies, and poison dryads

  

  Villainville is a big game from a tiny team. It has been in development for more than three years--but we're approaching the early access stage and looking for playtesters to help us bring it home!   As a team we're creating a space for our passion project despite a host of entirely too 'fun' medical challenges, a teeny tiny misdemeanor, and careers that liked to do hand stands. As for the husband-wife team of core developers? Ask anyone and they'll tell you they're much too old to make games. In fact, they're soon-to-be grandparents. And yet, here it is.
