What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We want to get the community involved in the making and evolution of the game. Racecraft has a deep sandbox concept and we think it’s very important to get the game in the hands of players as early as possible. We invite you to follow our progresses and share your feedbacks and suggestions on the development of the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect several iterations and updates in the next months to achieve the quality level we have in mind for the full release of Racecraft. We will obviously continue the development even after the full release, as the potential of our new procedural engine constantly creates new gameplay possibilities.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Since its Early Access release, Racecraft will offer many eSport asynchronous racing events that you can join for free: hotlaps, championships, tournaments and special events with prizes. You will be able to check Rankings and view all the informations you need to evaluate your overall performance.

By getting a Premium account you can challenge AI drivers in various modes:
-Time Attack, where you can freely set lap times trying to beat your own or your friends best laps.
-Bot Challenge, where you have to win a race versus a single opponent, to then meet a progressively stronger one.
-Quick Race, where you race versus a number of randomly generated opponents.
Then in the Craft section you can create your own tracks and share them with the community. The way tracks are generated in Racecraft is unique in the racing game genre, as Racecraft is the only game capable of procedurally generate an infinite number of very realistic tracks and with such a variety, you can also customize the design of your car in every way you want.

Planned core features for the full release include, among many other things:
-Single player championship and campaign.
-More crafting features such as Car Parts, Bots and Helmet crafting systems.
-Synchronous eSports multiplayer and full VR support.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is quite stable and polished with the single player and asynchronous eSport features almost complete. It includes:
  • Procedural generation of tracks with different tortuosities and lengths.
  • Share tracks and lap times with the community.
  • Single player modes: Time Attack, Bot Challenge, Quick Race.
  • Car personalization.
  • eSport ecosystem with seasons, performance index, licenses, and more.
  • Asynchronous eSport events you can join for free: hotlaps, championships, tournaments and special events with prizes.
  • Replay of your own and your opponents best lap times seen together.
  • Car setup: wings, suspensions, anti-roll bars, brake bias, gear ratio.
  • Weather, time of day, grip level of the track.
  • Track Analysis Adaptive Control: controls adapt according to the track shape.
  • Support for keyboard, gamepads and Thrustmaster and Logitech wheels.
  • Keyboard controls calibrated to be usable and competitive.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The Racecraft pricing will increase as the game receives significant updates and new features. The lower Early Access price is to support the community growth in order to get as much feedback as possible, as well as reward early Racecraft supporters with a discounted price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community involvement is crucial for a sandbox-themed racing game such as Racecraft. We started a dialogue with our Community since the private Alpha tests, we will listen to your feedbacks and suggestions on our Community hubs on Steam and Facebook and we’ll test each update before releasing it to the public with a selected team of players who will become our official QA team.”
