What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“To gather community feedback and ensure this tool evolves into something truly useful and enjoyable for Dungeon Masters and players.”

Approximately how long will this software be in Early Access?

“We are currently in early Alpha, as such we plan to have our Early Access last for 6 months. This timeline is designed on obtaining user feedback to further develop a quality user experience with great usable content. During this time we will be fixing any reported bugs and implementing necessary user suggestions. We will also be adding a few more maps users can pick from to aid in their campaign development.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full version we plan to feature multiple large-scale maps, an improved user interface, and additional features based on community feedback. Our plan is to provide a easy to use tool to create top-down maps for Tabletop and VTT RPG's.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“This is an early prototype that demonstrates the core concept but is still rough around the edges. You will currently find in our Early Access a single Island map with many points of interest that users can create Top-Down maps for Users tabletop campaigns. The map, or grid tool we call it, has a handful of features currently available. Players can turn on and off the grid overlay, change grid color, change sun angle, change camera clipping (to see inside structures), and adjust lighting centered around the character to light indoor structures.

You can also view the About This Software for an overview of the current features it offers.

We are currently working on additional Sun controls along with other features that should be implemented before the game goes live.”

Will this software be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“A free version will always be available, with a potential paid version offering additional maps and content.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community involvement is at the heart of this tool's development. We want feedback from players and Dungeon Masters to shape every aspect of the experience, from features to functionality. We'll actively engage through forums, social media (see Discord link below), and surveys, ensuring that your ideas and needs are heard. Our goal is to create a tool that’s not just helpful but truly indispensable for immersive storytelling and campaign building. By working together, we can refine and expand this utility into something the community loves and finds essential.

To be involved with the development you can join our Discord.”
