What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The concept of a solitaire roguelike like this is unorthodox, so we want its development to benefit from community feedback early on.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Up to a year, depending on development time needed for the other characters.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“In the Early Access version, players have access to the main character Klondike, and to the first stage of the game, the Plains.

In the full version, several extra characters are planned, with a different solitaire variant for each of them. There are also plans for more stages, with increased complexity further on, as well as more items.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“This is currently in an Alpha state; the mechanics of the game are all present, and the gameplay loop is completed.

In terms of content, players have access to the main character Klondike, 1 full stage, 9 card-modifying items, and 8 rule-changing cards.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The full version will have a price tag upon release, likely to be similar to other indie games of the same caliber.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Feedback will be taken into consideration throughout the development of the full game. Such feedback can be provided here, or on our other platforms, including the weekly development streams.”

About This Game

Not happy with the cards you have been dealt? What if you could change that?

In Klondike's Hike, you battle enemies by completing solitaire puzzles, and you can beat the random odds by modifying your cards and changing the rules of the game to progress further and further against the many hazards thrown at you.

Modify your deck until it is unrecognizable and try to defeat all the bosses to reach the Shores of Gold!

Modify your cards

With the modifiers, you can remove a card's suit, or rank, or even give it attributes it shouldn't have. Place your cards wherever you want!

Modify the board

You can use items to grab cards from behind piles, reorder whole columns, or even re-deal the entire tableau.

Modify the rules

Who's to say you can only build down? Use the trading cards to change the very base rules of the game!

Your opponents are cheating anyway, so why shouldn't you?
