What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I am gauging if people enjoy this type of content, and since I am a solo developer this kind of game will take a long time. With early access, I can consider if people like the gameplay loop or not, and if so, can willingly spend more hours working on the game.
Early Access also helps me create a more polished product. It will allow me to gather feedback beyond my friend group, and refine concepts even further.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Honestly, it will likely take around a year at minimum. Two at most. I'm trying to keep the scale of the game realistic, but even then, there is a lot of content. Cards, dialog, art, sounds, and story are a huge task for a single person to handle.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The plan is up to 12 characters, each with unlockable cards from level 1 to 60.
Story wise, I'm unsure how many chapters there will be, but I plan on a finished story, rather than a singular chapter.
I plan to include more enemies, implementing passives, and more cards. Ideally, I'm going to try my best to provide players with a sense of wonder in trying to build their decks around this unique combat system.
In terms of art and music, I plan on refining the story, art style, and different tunes and SFXs that occur within the game.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“There will be around 4 characters each with around 10 cards to choose from. The Chapter 1 in its entirety should be finished. The game will have music, sound effects, and card arts. As well as all the combat mechanics will be there.
Each characters have skill trees and passives to select from.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new content and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“One of the most important things is getting feedback on the gameplay loop, ensuring that as the game progresses and cards become more powerful, it remains interesting and fun.
Beyond that, gathering more attention for the game can help me get in touch with more people, and possibly developers / artists / musicians. I could use assistance in these departments as the game is quite large and will require a lot of hours.
I will have discussions with my community and any playtesters on Discord. If you wish to add me and provide feedback, my Discord is itsfarly. The community plays a big role in refining the game's balance, as well as providing creative ideas for unique cards and effects.”
