What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early Access gives players the chance to experience the foundation of the game while it's still in active development. The core systems—power management, survival, exploration, and crafting—are already functional, but there are still bugs and broken features that need fixing.

One of the major known issues right now is with the AI system, which is not behaving as intended in the current build. I’m already working on updates and fixes, and my priority is to stabilize AI behavior and overall performance as soon as possible.

Releasing in Early Access allows me to gather feedback, improve quickly, and build a better game alongside the community. Your support and input during this phase is what will help shape the final experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Around a year”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
The full version is planned to expand and polish every aspect of the game. The Early Access build focuses on the core survival and power systems, but the long-term goal is a much deeper, more immersive experience. This includes:

More advanced AI with purposeful behavior, expanded roles, and improved interactions with the world

Expanded vehicle functionality, including trailers, trucks, and vehicle-specific roles like power system maintenance

More complex power management, including deeper installation, repair, and balancing mechanics

Larger, more detailed world with new zones, hidden locations, and community upgrades

Improved crafting, farming, and base-building systems, offering more flexibility and progression

Better loot and exploration systems, with more varied loot zones, enemy encounters, and challenges

Additional weapons and customization, including unique parts, upgrades, and rare finds

Full UI/UX overhaul for better player experience, clearer systems, and quality-of-life improvements

Performance optimization and bug fixing, to ensure the game runs smoother and more reliably

Visual polish, improved animations, and environmental storytelling

The goal is to take what exists in Early Access and turn it into a more complete, reactive world where player choices, survival strategies, and power management all meaningfully impact gameplay.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes the core systems that define the game—power management, base building, exploration, crafting, and trading across multiple communities. The world is playable, and the key gameplay loop is functional. However, as expected with an early build, there are still many issues being worked on.

Some of the current limitations include:

Broken or limited AI behavior, which is actively being worked on

Unbalanced or placeholder items, with some potentially not working as intended

Performance hitches and minor visual bugs

Some missing polish across UI, animations, and world design

This version is a foundation—meant to be tested, improved, and built upon with player feedback. The vision is there, the systems are in place, but many areas still need refining. Updates and fixes will be rolled out as development continues.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The base price of the game is planned to stay the same during and after Early Access. Instead of raising the core price, I plan to support the game with optional DLCs in the future—these could include things like extra vehicles, furniture sets, cosmetic upgrades, or other non-essential content.

The main game experience, updates, and core systems will remain fully available to all players without additional cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I plan to involve the community mainly through social media updates, feedback posts, and open communication. Since I’m a solo developer with a full-time job and a family of six, my time is limited—but I’m fully committed to listening to players and improving the game based on real feedback.

I’ll share what I can, when I can, and keep players updated on progress, bug fixes, and upcoming features. Every bit of support, patience, and feedback from the community genuinely helps shape the future of the game, and I’m grateful for it.”

About This Game

In Island Reclamation, a gripping post-apocalyptic survival game, you find yourself in a shattered world where fragmented islands hold the key to humanity's rebirth. As a resilient survivor, your mission is clear: restore power, rebuild infrastructure, and navigate the delicate balance between diplomacy and survival.

Embark on a compelling journey in "Island Reclamation," a post-apocalyptic game where survival relies on rebuilding power on fragmented islands. As a resilient survivor, your task is to construct power stations to rebuild the main power lines encircling each island. However, the challenge extends to smaller settlements, where traders reside. These traders will only engage in transactions if you provide them with the power needed to operate. Fail to do so, and once-friendly settlements may turn hostile, viewing you with suspicion and mistrust.

The strategic loop intensifies as each settlement possesses a critical resource, such as the sawmill for poles. Timing becomes crucial – acquire rock, wood, iron, and more while the settlements aren't harvesting resources. Seize the opportunity when their backs are turned, deciding whether to negotiate for access or loot surrounding abandoned houses, shops, etc., to trade for gold. Use the gold to secure access to mines or acquire essential resources like wood, stone, and reliable transportation through cars .

Building trust with communities becomes paramount – those in good standing will reward you with gold for providing power. However, for settlements harbouring mistrust, even if you provide power, the compensation in gold remains elusive. Regardless of the community's stance, they will trade with you and maintain civility as long as your firearm remains holstered. Draw your weapon, and you have only a fleeting second to stow it away before they open fire. Cars and trailers become essential for moving large items in significant quantities, overcoming a significant restriction factor in this dynamic, shattered world. Adapt your approach, navigate alliances, and decide whether to trade, loot, or embark on covert operations to meet the challenges. The fate of these islands rests squarely in your hands.
