Rooked is telling a story of the synergy that appears when a lot of extremely smart and extremely weird people are locked in a room together. 

These people for some reason are obsessed with a weird board game they keep calling "chess".

Yes, you are planning to run a club. For that you will have to:

1) Learn to play their weird game good

2) Find money to pay rent.

The solution to 1? Well, there is tutorial, at least.

The solution to 2? Beat the local champion in a tournament.

Of course, more problems will appear. The club members are no doubt smart but lack vital skills. Someone must take care of their mundane needs. That would be you. Make sure that everybody has pizza, the coffee machine is in a good shape and last but not least - that the toilet is at least usable. 

With all this in mind, don't take things seriously. It's just a game.

The game is simple, fun and surprisingly deep. It takes months to become a strong competitive player.

You can even play it at home with a pizza box and a standard chess piece set!
