Set in the dark, cold depths of the Arctic Ocean, you descend into a Lovecraftian sci-fi adventure. With a sense of exploration, mystery, and creeping dread, you will uncover the horrible truth behind a lost research institute that operated in an undiscovered region in the Arctic seabed — known only as Crathos Deep.

In Crathos Deep, you play as a submarine pilot turned marine investigator, hired by a news outlet to look into an underwater science operation after an anonymous tip about a covered-up accident. Utilizing your expeditionary hub, you will piece together narrative clues, solve mysteries, and figure out your next course of action.

Discover the oppressive oceanic scenery of Crathos Deep at your own pace, in the exact order you want. Through immersive piloting, you will come across various abandoned research facilities, grim seabed vistas, and mysterious eldritch remains.

Your submarine is perfectly suited for traversing the vast world beneath the ice sheets, but much less so for reaching the tight, cramped spaces you will need to explore to truly understand what transpired. With your expeditionary drone, you will be able to get into any hidden nook and cranny, any cave or air vent — any place that might conceal disturbing yet vital information.

The submerged research stations will be difficult to navigate. Your drone needs to be tethered to use all of its features, and its small size puts you at the mercy of the physicality of the ocean. In order to truly get to the bottom of what happened at Crathos Deep, you must work with the physics of the world, be aware of your surroundings, and overcome various challenges with your drone’s mechanical features.

At the core of the cosmic horror genre and the writings of H.P. Lovecraft lies the idea that true horror comes from realizations — from adding two and two together and learning that the universe is larger and more terrifying than we previously could have imagined.
