What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We are using Early Access to allow our community to actively participate in the development of You Make The Game. The game is an evolving prototype, and your ideas and feedback will directly shape its final content. We believe that engaging with players early is crucial to building a game that everyone will enjoy. By joining Early Access, you play a key role in guiding the direction of the project.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We anticipate the development of You Make The Game to last around one year, but this could change depending on community feedback and the ideas that emerge during development. We’re taking a flexible approach and want to give the project all the time it needs to reach a polished final version.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to:
  • Add designs to this prototyping materials, yeah it's not the definitive visuals.
  • Add additional game modes, like local multiplayer, and possibly online multiplayer if the community grows large enough.
  • Expand the content, including new levels, game mechanics, and customization options.
  • Optimize the user experience, refining gameplay and improving tutorials.
  • Implements your awesome ideas !

In short, the final version should be much more complete, polished, and shaped by your ideas!”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version is a prototype that includes:

  • A few experimental game modes (2D platformer, 3D platformer, and others).
  • Core gameplay mechanics that are still evolving based on community input.
  • Regular updates with new features and improvements based on player feedback.

This is an early version of the game, so there may be bugs and features that are still being tested.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the game will be free to play during the prototype phase in Early Access. Once the game reaches its full release, it will be available for a one-time fee depending on the final scope of the project. We may adjust the price as we add new content and features throughout development.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is at the heart of this project. Players can:

  • Join our Discord to share ideas, report bugs, and discuss the game with the developers.
  • Leave comments on our YouTube dev logs to directly influence the game’s direction.
  • Participate in regular playtests to help us improve the gameplay experience.

We will take your feedback seriously and use it to guide the development of You Make The Game. Together, we’ll build something great!”

About This Game

What is You Make The Game?

Welcome to You Make The Game, a community-driven game development experience! We want to create a game based on YOUR ideas and feedback. This project is an ongoing prototype, updated regularly with new features based on your input. If you’ve ever wanted to help shape a game from the ground up, this is your chance!

How Does It Work?

  • Play the latest build of the game and experiment with what we’ve made so far.
  • Share your thoughts, ideas, and feedback in our Discord or drop a comment on our latest YouTube dev logs.
  • Watch the game evolve! We release updates based on community feedback, and you’ll see your ideas come to life.

Why Are We Doing This?

We’re a small team of two devs working part-time on You Make The Game. After releasing our previous game Block-ed, we realized how much fun it would be to involve the community from the start. We love working on creative games, but we also know that the best games are built with the players in mind. That’s where you come in!

What You Can Expect:

  • Regular updates that incorporate community ideas
  • Full transparency on development progress through dev logs
  • An open and welcoming environment to share your thoughts and suggestions

Features

  • Community-Driven Development: Your ideas help shape the game! Suggest mechanics, features, or anything else you think would be fun.
  • Regular Updates: Each new YouTube video dev log brings new features to the game. Playtest them and give feedback to guide the next steps.
  • Interactive Community: Join our Discord to discuss your ideas directly with us and other players. Together, we'll brainstorm, build, and refine the game.
  • Fun and Experimental Gameplay: The game is still in its early stages, but every update will bring new elements for you to explore. Whether it's level design, mechanics, or art style—we're figuring it out together!

Why Your Ideas Matter

In You Make The Game, we aim to build something that YOU want to play. Every suggestion, no matter how big or small, helps us craft the best possible experience. We can’t promise that every idea will make it into the game, but we do promise to listen and consider all feedback. Keep in mind, we’re a small team working part-time, so while we can’t implement everything, we love working with the community to figure out what’s most fun!

Note on Submitting Ideas:
By submitting ideas, you agree that they’re shared freely with no expectation of compensation. We want this to be a fun, collaborative process, so if you’re not comfortable with your ideas being used this way, please refrain from participating in the discussions.

Development Plans

We’re aiming for about a year of development, though the exact timeline depends on how the project evolves. Because the game is shaped by community input, the scope might change as we explore different ideas together. We’ll share progress through regular updates on Steam and YouTube, so you’ll always know what we’re working on.
