About This Software

⚠️ Note for Windows 11 Users

This version is no longer supported on Windows 11 due to recent OS changes that broke compatibility. Unfortunately, I no longer have access to the original development files. If you purchased this on Windows 11 while it was still working, I recommend requesting a refund. We're currently in discussions with Steam to explore possible solutions for users who are no longer eligible for a standard refund.

To be fully transparent: After this project saw very few purchases, I hit a low point and ended up deleting the original files—so I can’t update the code to fix the current compatibility issue. Thankfully, I was able to recover an earlier build that included all the core card logic and most of the complex systems. That file became the foundation for Retro Elimination Flashcards 2, which introduces a new phase-based system and will be actively supported going forward.

Since this original version focuses on user customization and the new product is centered around progressing through phases, I felt they should remain separate titles. This version still offers something unique for Windows 10 users, and it’s unfortunate that it suddenly stopped working on Windows 11.

I also want to acknowledge a mistake on my part: I began transforming this product into the new phase-based system, but many of you originally purchased a highly customizable flashcard tool where you make the decisions. Changing the product direction wasn’t fair to those expectations.

This experience has taught me a lot—including the importance of keeping proper backups—and I’m committed to doing things better going forward. I’ve taken those lessons to heart and won’t be making the same mistakes with the new title.

Thank you for being here and for your support.

Welcome to Retro Elimination Flashcards!

This Version of Retro Elimination Flashcards is all about user Control and Customization.

You Set everything up how you want it:

  • How many Cards do you want to work on at a time?

  • Should wrong answers have consequences? Such as bringing back cards that have already been mastered.

  • How many wrong answers should it take for those consequences to occur?

  • How many correct answers before a card is considered mastered and Eliminated?

  • How would you like to study? Choose from Six unique ways such as...Multiple Choice, Type Response, and Break out (Eliminated cards will try to come back, if you answer them wrong they go back into your card deck.)

Note: Character limitation of 224 characters per card side.

Note: When you want to add or edit cards in any deck you've already made simply click on your saved .txt file. It will then open in a text editor such as Notepad.
