Synchronous is a puzzle-platformer where you commandeer up to three unique player characters at once. Use numerous gizmos to solve 49 increasingly complicated puzzle levels, and all this is made possible by magnetization, allowing characters to move simultaneously and independently at once.

Miksi Early Access?

Synchronous is still in active development. One more level (Level 5.10) as well as a host of polish and quality-of-life features are planned to be added. The game will also receive either more sound effects or music that is more integrated with the gameplay. Because Synchronous is primarily developed by myself only, I need the help of the community to bring bugs, suggestions, and feedback to my attention. I know that with the help of the community, we can make Synchronous into the best game it can be for when it eventually reaches the full release!

Miten kauan peli tulee arviolta olemaan Early Access -vaiheessa?

Synchronous will likely be in Early Access for no longer than a year, but this primarily depends on how long it takes to deliver the game that I and the community believe is the full and complete release.

Millä tavoin lopullinen versio tulee eroamaan Early Access -versiosta?

The vast majority of the content planned for the game is in the game currently. What remains to be developed is Level 5.10, some sound effect work, and general polish.

Synchronous in its Early Access state is a fully playable game. All the content in the "About This Game: Content" section is present in the game, mainly comprised of 49 levels divided into 5 chapters. Further polish and the final level are currently in development.

Muuttuuko pelin hinta Early Access -vaiheen jälkeen?

Synchronous will always have a very lengthy and completely free demo containing the first few chapters (currently Chapters 1 through 3). The price of the full version will always be low, but it is planned to be raised slightly when Synchronous is fully released.

Since Synchronous is a (primarily) one-man endeavor, I am extremely open to detailed and constructive feedback of all kinds. I rely heavily on the Community for bug reporting and feature requests. Overview:

Synchronous is a 2D puzzle platformer game based around metal boxes that move synchronously. Different boxes have unique abilities. However, each metal box possesses a magnet that enables it to remain on any metal surface on command. (This is the main mechanic of the game.)

Content:

This game contains 49 meticulously crafted puzzle levels divided into five chapters, each featuring numerous gizmos and gadgets that must be navigated and utilized to reach the goal. Each level also contains an elusive collectible to reward creative thinkers. Some levels test primarily platforming skills, while others are solely puzzle-based. In the platforming levels, when one box is destroyed, the level must be restarted. This is not the case for the puzzle levels. If you think any level is miscategorized, please let me know.

Chapter completion times are recorded, so after exploring the entire game, you can test your speed as well. Your progress, times, and collectibles are constantly saved, so you can always pick up right where you left off.

Controls:

The controls are explained here as well as in-game:

Movement: Arrow keys / WASD / D-pad / Analog stick

Jumping: Up arrow key / W / Space / South button (controller)

Magnetizing: Down arrow key / S / Shift / West button (controller)

Pause Menu: Escape

Show Timer: T

Development:

This game is still in development, so I would love feedback and criticism on every aspect of the game.

There are currently five layered music tracks implemented in the game plus a Title Theme.

The game is continually being updated (though not consistently) and is currently at version beta 0.16 pre5. It is available for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Feedback is welcome and appreciated!
