“We want to develop Dead Ends in cooperation with the player base. We believe that is the best way to make the game great. In the end we are making this game for the players, so we want to be in close contact with them as much as possible.”

“Most of the core features of the game have been built and are working. This includes combat, enemy spawning, enemy dismemberment, Enemy AI, Vehicles, Airdrops, looting and scavenging, inventory management, randomized weapon- and gear drops, perks, saving and more.

Features that are still missing at this point in time include: Networking (Co-op), settlement resource management, character selection and customization, settings and more.

We are doing pre-alpha playtests in our Discord community frequently to get feedback and do iterations. Right now we are still refining the combat and are planning on releasing a small combat demo soon so players can get a taste of the carnage.”

In Dead Ends you and up to 3 of your friends play as mercenary scavengers, diving into zombie infested zones to complete objectives, retrieve vital supplies, rescue survivors and rebuild society.

ABOUT THE GAME


It has been a year since civilization collapsed and the government and weapons manufacturer WMD Industries has now succeeded, as part of Project Dead Ends, in sealing off designated areas in the USA with large concrete walls. These areas are referred to as "The Zones".

Your job is simple but not easy: Go in, complete the objectives, collect as many valuable supplies as possible and reach the extraction point to get out. Working together is crucial if you want to survive, and you really want to, because if you die, you lose everything.

In Project Dead Ends you will be able to:

  • Call down Airdrops: WMD Industries sees it as their duty to supply all patriots with the best in peacekeeping equipment. Call in turrets, drones, vehicles, barricades and much more to aid you in your mission.
  • Scavenge vital supplies: From abandoned military facilities and hospitals to houses and stores, you must find the supplies that your fellow americans so desperately need and bring them back safely.
  • Get some wheels: Find vehicles, modify them, use them to transport supplies or just to mow down the undead invaders. Whatever gets the job done soldier!
  • Kill the undead: The undead seek to strip us of our freedom, prosperity, and lives. As a patriot in Project Dead Ends you will make sure they stay dead and you will be fully equipped for the job. Assault rifles, sub machine guns, shotguns, handguns, grenades, bombs, blades, whatever you need, WMD provides.
  • Strategize with your team: There's more than one way to victory and your team, equipment at playstyle greatly determines your outcome, so make a plan and stay ahead of the dead.
  • Help rebuild society: As you venture bravely into the zones and bring back supplies, put them to use by constructing buildings and conducting research that will help your local community back on it's feet.

The game contains lots of gore like zombies getting their heads shot off, severed limbs, intestines coming out of severed torsos, monster guts, blood and brains getting splattered all over the ground as the player mows down the undead. It's pretty awesome if you ask us.

The game does not contain depictions of sexual assault/non-consensual sex, BDSM, drug/alcohol abuse, and/or self-harm of any kind.
