Journey through the galaxy as the hero Jaughn, which is totally not a respelling of John, and fight your way against the dreaded Intragalactic Coalition! As a former Border Guard for the Intragalactic Coalition, Jaughn quickly becomes embroiled in an unexpected Rebellion to save the galaxy. Join a colorful cast of characters and embark on a lighthearted yet action-packed journey of redemption. Lead the Rebellion into victory!

Unstable Star is a galactic arcade-style, third-person space-shooter packed with action, comedy, and galactic salvation.

• Explore the immersive story: Play as Jaughn and his new-found friends as they fight to stop the Intragalactic Coalition from destroying the galaxy and watch as the action unfolds through colorful cutscenes and in-game dialogue.
  
• Fight waves of enemies with upgradeable loadouts: Unlock new weapons and abilities such as phase shift or the laser gun to help defeat enemies and destroy environmental obstacles such as asteroids. Customize your loadout before each level to play to your style, and fight the waves of enemies as they approach your ship.
  
• Take down bosses in boss battles: Complete levels and objectives to progress the story to the two boss battles in-game. Uncover who is behind the nefarious plans of the Intragalactic Coalition, and take them down!

Break out of jail, join a team, start a rebellion, and call upon the galaxy to prevent its total annihilation before it’s too late!

Developed by Heatwave Studio (formerly 25PercentGames), a student game development group based out of Arizona State University that aims to complete and publish one game each year. Unstable Star follows the story of a resistance in a war against an intergalactic empire, featuring fights between spaceships and explosions. The story also explicitly states that the empire's actions would cause mass genocide of a solar system, although this is ultimately prevented and no graphic deaths are shown on screen.
