"At the moment, the game is playable from start to finish and there are no additional major mechanics planned (see "about this game” for a description of some of the already-implemented mechanics). You can play the game as either a starting faction or create your own faction. The starting factions right now are distinguished from each other by their position on the map and by a special "trait" (meaning a modifier, for example "+10% ship speed"). However, the starting factions all have the same mission tree and spacecraft, buildings, and technologies available to them. Additionally, there may be certain mechanics that are somewhat unbalanced or warrant expanding upon, or bugs that need to be fixed."

If one or more of these things was not accomplished within a reasonable time frame, then the price will not change after early access."
