What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I think we're close - we're about version 0.9.
A bunch of content is in - vertically and horizontally. Players can kill one of two bosses currently in the game after going through about 14 levels.

But I still want to add even more content and also really get feedback from other folks, who will inevitably find a ton of bugs. As well as get what they like/dislike. What kind of content do they want?”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I am hoping that the game will be in Early Access for about six months, but that depends on irl things. We mostly just need to add content - levels (which is basically terrain) and a few more bosses. Also save slots, achievements. No real big "under the hood" changes are foreseen at this time.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I would like to add in achievements. I would also like to add in difficulty levels - these will most likely be %age buffs/nerfs to the player/enemies. Note that the game is beatable now, but the goal is to add in additional difficulties for those that want a challenge and do more runs. (It's a roguelike)

The plan is also to add in more content - mostly "horizontally". That is, just more levels/maps. As well as more upgrades for the player to choose from. I'd like to add in more enemies as well - although there are about twenty already in the game. But I'd like some player feedback as to what feels good and what doesn't. There MIGHT be some increase in length ("vertical") but I don't think it'll be too much. A run is 14 levels now. That may go up to 16 or so?

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Totally playable. All the towers are in (10 different ones). Two bosses are in to kill as well. The game is about 14 levels long now.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price is not anticipated to change. There is certainly no inclination to increase the price, even after Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I already have a subreddit and a discord up. There's a "bug report" button in the game as well that links to a Google Form.”

Early Access

About This Game

Your mission is to protect the Xenocrystals as you go through the alien worlds of the Vorrak. Use energy to teleport in your towers to defend the Xenocrystals.  Use orbital abilities to destroy the aliens directly or support your own towers.

Hundreds Of Upgrades

At the end of each stage, you can select upgrades that will stay with you through your mission. There's no purchasing on the towers - once you research that technology, it's yours.

Orbital Strikes

You can call down Orbital Strikes to target specific areas. Be careful though - as they have to recharge. But you can use energy to use them before they fully recharge on their own.

Different towers and Damage Types

Ten different types of towers - long-range/short-range, AOE or single target, shoot slowly or quickly. You choose your arsenal. There are also five types of damage - physical, fire, frost, poison, and lightning - with different effects.  Frost slows enemies, fire burns, etc.

Energy Management

Energy is used to teleport in your towers, or recharge your orbital abilities quickly. But between waves of enemies, you will gain energy proportional to how much energy you currently have and how quickly you've cleared the wave. Plan well and you may be able to use extra energy at the end of the level to get more upgrades or restore crystals.

True Roguelike

No meta-progress. You will have access to all units, abilities, and upgrades from the start. Learning how to use them and what the enemies are doing is another story however.

Boss Battles

Bosses aren't just damage sponges and have unique abilities or characteristics that separate them from their underlings.
