Waarom vroegtijdige toegang?

'As a team of two working on this part-time, releasing at Early Access will allow us to dedicate ourselves fully to the project. We're also eager for as many people as possible to play Pilgrim, so with the community's feedback we can create a great game! Any feedback will be invaluable when we create new monsters and levels, whilst moving towards a full release.'

Hoelang blijft dit spel ongeveer in vroegtijdige toegang?

'Approximately 5-6 months. The plan is to fine tune the game, add new areas, develop monsters, items and more and then to flesh out end game content.'

Hoe gaat de volledige versie verschillen van de versie met vroegtijdige toegang?

'There is already an enjoyable gameplay loop for Pilgrim, but our ultimate aim is to flesh out the world with more monsters, areas and characters and provide more robust end game content. To give an example of a roadmap item - we would love for there to be one off exciting events along the path that could speak more fully to the games story.'

Wat is de huidige staat van de versie met vroegtijdige toegang?

'In the current build, there are various monsters, a Merchant to buy and sell your wares, and 3 different procedurally generated areas to explore and a host of different interactables that range from crude weapons, lamps, arcane summoning items and most importantly... The duck call.
We have multiplayer support fully up and running at the moment you can join with up to three friends, so that makes for a max of 4 players but this is something we'd like to expand upon.'

'It is likely that the game could increase in price after early access.'

'We will be closely watching the community's reaction, reading reviews, and watching playthroughs. We will be setting up a discord community where you can post about any bugs. We will also be taking inspiration from our community, if you have an idea for a frightening monster or an interesting new mechanic then we would love to hear about it!'

Overview
In this first person horror game, immerse yourself in the dark otherworldly horror of the medieval.
A long and dangerous road awaits the chosen Pilgrims. You will journey to find out what lies at the end of the road.

Thrust from the safety of your Village, given little supplies and a powered wagon. Take yourself and your companions through a dark world to find what awaits you along this winding path.

To survive you’ll have to delve deep into crypts, unlock dimly lit dungeons, explore the derelict towns and try not to lose yourself in the twisting woodlands.

In this solo or multiplayer dark adventure be sure to take a light with you into the dark places of the world.

Equipment
But dear Pilgrim - all is not so bleak. You will take with you a Wagon, one of the Village’s last remaining remnants of the old world. It’s fitted with a crystalline engine that powers it towards the user’s will - trust it and it will take you to where you need to be.
However, that is not all. The Village’s best and most cunning craftsmen have devised a dial that can divine the time of day! The three distinct time zones of Day, Night and Deep Night will be signified by this dial and a bell. Don’t be caught away from the wagon after day.

You might also happen across a friendly merchant who is all too willing to supply you with his wears.
Use items to help you navigate the world, fight off creatures and perhaps have a little fun along the way.

Monsters
We know you won’t be alone - we’ve seen them out there. The Monsters.
Encounter a range of different creatures - just a brief encounter might result in the end of your pilgrimage.

Death is not the end!
If you're playing with friends you can be brought back from death - but at what cost?

Friends
You don’t have to do it alone. You might get lucky and this year’s Pilgrimage could get a good batch of travellers all ready to ride alongside you in your wagon. But it’s up to you to do the recruiting! Get your friends online and see if you can make it to the end of The Road.
