What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“As a solo developer it will take me some time to get Aetherdale into a state I'm comfortable releasing it in. I will need feedback throughout this process.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Currently, Aetherdale is expected to leave early access, and be released in Q4 of 2027.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to contain multiple regions, dozens of Idol forms and weapons to choose from, and significantly more enemy types.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“One region is complete at the moment - the forest, which is the first area the player must fight through. There are currently 2 playable Idol forms. As of now, only the basic systems are in place - such as combat, the shop, and the weapon upgrading system.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“As of now my plan is to keep Aetherdale free until full release. At that point it will have a flat, affordable price. Further development will come in the form of expansions which will be similarly priced.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will be critical to Aetherdale's development. The community can get involved with playtests and other events, hosted on the Aetherdale Discord.”

About This Game

Venture into the treacherous regions of Aetherdale - a kingdom ablaze with magic and warfare. Assemble an arsenal of weapons and artifacts, to become an unstoppable force of destruction. Take control of powerful combat forms that defy the limits of natural magic.

A UNIQUE FANTASY WORLD

You are a Wraith - a creature constructed to perform menial tasks. While not impressive in their own right, Wraiths possess a hidden power that will be key to saving Aetherdale from otherwise certain doom - their ability to transform into Idol forms.

IDOL FORMS

Idols are pure manifestations of one of the six forms of magic that course through Aetherdale. They possess varied and unique abilities, ranging between offensive, defensive, restorative, and other types altogether.

FORM AN ARSENAL

Awaiting your discovery are various weapons and magical trinkets, each with their own unique effects and use cases. Equipped with a weapon, Idol, and a trinket, you will be ready to brave the wilds, face your foes, and discover the secrets of the world you find yourself in.

THE MISSION

Beyond the most perilous areas of Aetherdale waits an ancient - and deadly - enemy. Only a Wraith, well equipped and well trained, stands a chance of getting close enough to it to strike, before it heralds the end of all life in Aetherdale.

REGIONS

The regions of Aetherdale are as much an ally as your actual allies are - and as much an enemy as your enemies are. Understanding how to navigate each one is key to success in your journey.
