Wat de ontwikkelaars zeggen:

Waarom vroegtijdige toegang?

'While many players enjoyed the demo, it also revealed several areas that could be improved—particularly in interface usability, balance, and controller support.
Currently, The End of History supports keyboard and mouse only, and we understand that many players would prefer to use a controller.
We decided to launch in Early Access so we can gradually develop controller support and other improvements while incorporating community feedback.
This approach allows us to refine the experience step by step toward a smoother, more accessible version.'

Hoelang blijft dit spel ongeveer in vroegtijdige toegang?

'We expect the Early Access period to last around 6 months to 1 year, depending on the volume and nature of feedback we receive during development.'

Hoe gaat de volledige versie verschillen van de versie met vroegtijdige toegang?

'A key difference we plan to add in the full version is controller support.
At this stage, controller play is not supported, so if you are not comfortable using a keyboard and mouse, you may wish to wait for a future update or the full release.
We also plan to update the UI alongside controller support, and to continue improving balance and overall usability.
These updates are part of our ongoing goals, but may change depending on feedback and development progress.'

Wat is de huidige staat van de versie met vroegtijdige toegang?

'The Early Access version already contains all core gameplay systems and provides a stable, fully playable experience.
Players can freely explore the world, engage in combat, build relationships with NPCs, and shape their own historical narrative within the sandbox environment.'

Zal het spel anders geprijsd worden tijdens en na vroegtijdige toegang?

'At this time, we do not plan to change the price after the full release.
However, if major updates or additional content beyond our current plans are developed based on community feedback or new ideas during production,
the price may be reviewed accordingly to reflect those changes.'

Hoe zijn jullie van plan de community te betrekken bij het ontwikkelproces?

'We’ll continue to listen closely to feedback shared through Steam discussions, Discord, social media, and other community channels.
All feedback—whether related to gameplay, balance, or usability—is reviewed by the development team and used to guide future updates.
While we may not be able to respond to every message individually, all player input is carefully considered as part of our development process.'

The End of History has some very unique systems, so we recommend giving the free demo a try before you decide to purchase.

Over dit spel

This is not a hero's tale — it is a record of observed history.

The End of History is a historical sandbox simulation set in a medieval fantasy world.
In this world, NPCs live with their own wills and intentions, just as the player does.
Even without your involvement, they wage war, fall in love, betray one another, and sometimes perish.
From the accumulation of countless such events, a completely different history emerges every playthrough.
Living as one person in this world, you sometimes intervene in history and sometimes simply observe from a distance — experiencing a one-of-a-kind story that only you can witness.

Every NPC Is Alive

The defining feature of this game is that every NPC continues to act autonomously.
Glance at a character's biography and you may discover they've been living an extraordinary life.
Before you know it, an NPC you were fond of has quietly married the king of another nation.
A once gentle ruler, after enduring war after war, accumulated hatred and began acting with shocking cruelty.
Even without your involvement, the world moves on its own — and NPCs create their own drama.
At the heart of this game is the joy of observing these unpredictable developments.

Prevent the Collapse of the World — Your Way

You are given a single mission: to stop the collapse of the world.
This world moves toward ruin as hatred and division accumulate.
There is no single path to prevent collapse — diplomacy, economics, warfare, or intervention in personal relationships are just some of the approaches available to you.

Live Freely — Write Your Own History

You begin as a nameless wanderer, and how you live from there is entirely your choice.
Serve a nation or faction and build a legacy. Found your own realm and aim to unite the land.
Rally behind a favorite NPC and spend your life as their loyal advisor.
Or simply live as an observer, watching history unfold.

When you belong to a state, you may occasionally receive difficult orders from your liege.
Once you have your own faction and retainers, you can pass those orders down to your subordinates, tackling challenges as an organization.

Whichever path you choose, the sum of your decisions shapes the world and becomes a history that is yours alone.

Technology Advances, Eras Change

Combat begins with swords and bows, but as time passes, technologies emerge: gunpowder, firearms, cannon tanks, and flying warships.
When the age of knights gives way to the age of firepower, the nature of battle changes dramatically.
Whether to embrace new technology or deliberately hold it back — that choice, too, colors your roleplay.

Uncover the Mystery of the "Obelisk"

Fragments of clues are scattered across the world.
What is the true nature of the massive structure known as the Obelisk, said to have once held infinite wisdom?
Discover for yourself how it is connected to a world on the brink of collapse.

A World Where Unique Histories Are Born

There is no predetermined scenario in this game.
The "history that is observed" through countless events becomes a story that is yours alone.

"My spouse was killed in battle — and as I fought to avenge them, the world collapsed."

"I spent twenty years as a loyal advisor, rallying behind a beloved NPC until we unified the continent together."

"I kept executing all prisoners from every nation I conquered — until the enemy countries declared war of vengeance, again and again."

These are all one-of-a-kind stories experienced by real players.
A different history unfolds every playthrough, leaving you thinking "I want to try this differently next time" even after dozens of hours.

NPCs live, fight, form bonds, and sometimes perish even beyond your sight.
Yet a single move on your part can leave a lasting impact on their lives.
That accumulation is the one-of-a-kind history that only you can observe.

Is This Game For You?

This game has very distinct characteristics, so we want to be upfront about what makes it enjoyable.

Highly recommended if you:

  • Enjoy observing and interacting with NPCs who feel genuinely alive

  • Can appreciate events that do not go your way as part of the story

  • Love the experience of watching a world evolve on its own, stepping in only occasionally

We recommend trying the free demo first if you:

  • Want to fully control or "complete" every NPC (NPC behavior is unpredictable and won't follow your plans)

  • Are primarily looking for satisfying action combat (this game's combat is strategy- and command-focused)

  • Want to follow a fixed story to its conclusion (this game has no predetermined scenarios or scripted endings)
