Om dette spil

Game Overview

"...The horizon is still dark. The afterlife has long nights."

~ Sofia Chemistians

The gameplay is a hybrid of side-scrolling action and bullet hell shooting.

Story

"I want to choose a future where I won't regret my past."

~ Shigure Hitofuri

The "afterlife" is neither heaven nor hell—it's a world where spirits of humans who died with lingering attachments to the living world end up. In the 19th century, Shigure Hitofuri, a swordsman who lost her life in the Boshin War, lives in a "settlement" along the shores of a lake where the dead wash ashore.

One day, she becomes involved in a battle with "Chemistians," a mysterious organization from the British Empire that has invaded the afterlife. In this dawn of scientific advancement, the British Empire's "Chemistians," having pioneered the Industrial Revolution, are armed with overwhelming scientific and military power. Gatling guns, steam-powered aircraft, airborne troops... The Chemistians' assassins unleash an array of cutting-edge weapons. Through battles where various emotions—beliefs, ambitions, loyalty, friendship, admiration, atonement—intersect, Shigure cuts her way through with only her sword. Beyond lies the revelation of the purpose of the "three" individuals leading the Chemistians.

The game vividly portrays its world and story with vibrant pixel art.
