Varför Early Access?

“While AtomsPast currently is a complete tabletop wargame able to support thousands of combinations of rules for miniatures, it is NOT competitively balanced. In one sense AtomsPast is balanced because, unlike most wargames, all players have access to all keywords and abilities. However the costs of keywords, stats, and effects have been internally balanced by me but there are too many combinations for me to test. In the coming months I will be focusing on adding additional keywords to balance the different phases of the game, changing point costs and calculations, and updating the rules to be as clear as possible based on player feedback. Before releasing the full version I'm committed to work on updating AtomsPast's competitive balance through player feedback here on Steam and through Discord.”

Ungefär hur länge kommer det här programmet att vara i Early Access?

“Planning on Early Access for 6-12 months depending on Player feedback. There are so many combinations of stats and keywords that this timeline is just an estimate.”

“Based on player feedback and continued testing I plan to expand the usable keywords, adjust keyword abilities and balance, and update the costs of stats. The goal being to create a complete competitive game for any miniature.”

“Right now the game has everything it needs to allow players to create thousands, maybe tens of thousands of different combinations of rules for models on the battlefield and spells to cast and then use those custom rules to play a strategic wargame.

If you are a player of any mainstream miniatures game, you and your friends will be able to use those models to play AtomsPast and have enjoyable battles.

If you are not a player of any tabletop game - then Early Access is a great time to get maybe the lowest cost entry into tabletop gaming, as you don't technically NEED models to play, you could use anything to represent them and use AtomsPast to play with your friends.”

Kommer det här programmet att prissättas annorlunda under och efter Early Access?

“The pricing plan is to have a heavy discount at the start of Early Access with updates in the future slowly removing the discount with increased content and balance updates. I have no plans on increasing the price after launch.”

Hur planerar ni att involvera gemenskapen i er utvecklingsprocess?

“Community feedback will be critical for rules text clarification, point cost balancing, and additional rule/keyword creation. Through Steam and Discord I want to take community feedback and make balance and rules changes needed to get to 1.0.”

The most customizable wargame. Play your way.

AtomsPast is a custom model rule creator, custom spell creator, and complete rule book for waging battles on tabletop against your friends. The custom rule creation process lets you create rules that fit your miniatures and construct the spells you want to bolster them on the battlefield. The rules of the game scale from smaller battles of 20 or fewer models, up to much larger battles.

About AtomsPast

The goals of AtomsPast is to give miniature wargamers control of their game and to eliminate as much of the cost of wargaming as possible. There is no "power creep" of miniatures to worry about or additional rule books or expansions needed. Any models of similar scale can be played with, and all the rules to play the game are in one place.

In AtomsPast, you pick a leader of your Warband called a "Kon", who is the focal point of your spell casting. To win the game you must destroy your opponents Kon while protecting your own. Your Kon goes to battle with a Warband of models and a Grimoire of your spells. Your Kon, Warband, and Grimoire are all built in AtomsPast and everyone has access to the same effects and abilities. Do you want an Orc Warband led by a mighty Shaman? Or what about a two-headed Dragon charging through your enemies lines? You can create the rules for these and much more in AtomsPast.

Why Steam?

In the future I'd like to make an asynchronous multiplayer expansion to AtomsPast so people who don't have time or aren't near a gaming group/store can also play a tabletop wargame where they can be as creative as they want with their battles. This will be a paid separate DLC in the future.
