What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I am developing the game entirely on my own and I need valuable ideas during the development process of my game. I need your opinions on what additional mechanics I can add to the game based on its core concept. Your input as players is essential to me.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Subject to the feedback I receive, it is anticipated to transition to the full version within approximately one year.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“To increase the diversity of challenging enemies every 10 days and to encourage more efficient strategic tower placement according to these varied enemies, I plan to introduce more variety. For instance, after the 50th day, there will be a boss that only takes damage from poison towers, and after the 60th day, a boss that can only be damaged by ice towers. Additionally, I aim to enhance the variety of mini-enemies coming from different biomes each night. Currently, there are only 6 different types of enemies, but I'm considering expanding this to around 20. This will provide players with more elements to strategize with in the game”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version includes 6 different types of enemies and 4 different types of towers. More enemy types and additional buildable elements will be added.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I don't intend to change the price between early access and full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I will evaluate each positive or negative feedback and learn from them. If the feedback is relevant and necessary for the game, I will immediately incorporate it into my game. So please, don't underestimate the value of reviewing the game after playing it.”

About This Game

The Crystal Guardian game is a tower defense game based on strategic elements of time management and tower placement according to the locations of different biomes. Every night at 00:00, different enemies emerge from different biomes and attempt to destroy the crystal. You must strategically place towers that will inflict more damage to the creature of that biome, as different enemies come from different biomes. However, remember that the difficulty of the game is not only the enemies but also finding solutions to hunger and thirst. To do this, you must explore and gather resources during safe hours in the daytime. Each biome has different resources. The game starts over when the crystal is destroyed or when you die, so try to learn from your previous games and survive until the 100th day. Good luck, guardians, in your mission!

  • Strategic tower defense gameplay based on time management and biome-specific enemy encounters.
  • Dynamic enemy waves spawning from different biomes every night at 00:00, posing a threat to the crystal.
  • Placement of towers tailored to deal maximum damage to creatures from specific biomes.
  • Survival elements including managing hunger and thirst, requiring resource gathering during safe daylight hours.
  • Diverse biomes offering different types of resources.
  • Permadeath mechanic where the game restarts upon crystal destruction or player death, encouraging learning from past experiences to survive up to the 100th day.

Each biome has its own unique enemies, and the towers capable of damaging these enemies vary. Tower placement forms the foundation of the game. As depicted in the visuals, an enemy from the Snow biome takes more damage from a Fire tower compared to an Ice tower. However, when you create a new biome, an enemy from the Desert biome might appear, and in this case, the situation reverses.

You can place the map anywhere you like, and these maps are randomly selected from 11 different versions of each of the 4 biomes every time. Resources and enemies can vary in each version. However, remember that while each map signifies new resources, it also means more enemies every night. Therefore, when placing the map, consider the positioning of your towers and the crystal you need to protect.
