Why Early Access?

“As a solo developer, making an entire game with multiple stories, rich lore, and unique characters can be overwhelming. We wish to expand our team and make efforts to provide a long and thought provoking story. However due to everything being controlled by one person, it takes a long time.

My plan is to release a small segment of the game to give you a taste of what there is to come when it comes to story and gameplay. There are a lot of elements I had to remove for time, such as skill tree's, new abilities, interactive mini-games, and much much more.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The game will be in early access for roughly 4-8 months.

I have currently worked on this game for around 2 years, and it's only about 1/10th the length I am hoping for.

We will no longer be in Early Access once the first areas are complete. And we will continue working on the story and expand the game from then on.

That being said, if we were to get a team on board, it could be finished much faster.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan on expanding the multiple stories found within When The World Became Black.

Our plan is to add multiple branching paths that change how characters interact with you.

We also plan on adding much more in game minigames!

These minigames will give you a bit more insight into the people and lore of the world.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently there are two major stories!

A good ending and an evil ending!

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually raise the price as we ship new content and features.

Each time we ship new content, we plan on adding a new chapter to the story.

We are hoping each installment will add over an hour more of content for each story path.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan on taking notes on what players would like to see more of!

Whether it be more funny dialogue options, secret bosses, or more!

We want to see what makes you enjoy the game!”

About This Game

Beat 'Em Up meets Bullet-Hell!

Dodge, Punch, and Choose! In this action RPG, your actions change the story. Beat up enemies? Make friends? You decide!

When fighting enemies, you can choose to SPARE, or KILL them!

When interacting with characters, you can get more information based on actions you've done!

Either way, there's a lot of secrets to find, so don't be scared to try again!
