What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Early access allows me to gather feedback from players, which can be invaluable for improving the game before its full release.
It provides me an opportunity to test the game in a real-world environment, identify bugs, and make necessary fixes.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I try to do the best, I'm working alone, hard to tell, but roughly i aimed Late 2024 for the final release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version may include more levels, missions, characters, weapons, or other in-game content that expands the overall experience compared to the early access version.

The full version is expected to address any technical issues, bugs, and performance optimization based on the feedback received during early access, leading to a more stable and smooth-running game.

Im typically fine-tune game balance, difficulty levels, and progression systems based on player feedback, ensuring a more satisfying and fair gameplay experience in the full version.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“In Singleplayer mode the game works as it should 99%.

The Lan Co-Op version works fine, but for the Online Co-Op you need a Hamachi or Radmin VPN , it still works even if the steam page doesn't show it, it's is around 80% works , there are some issues.

In the final game release , players can expect more areas to explore, more weapons to use, not 2 but 4 player coop mode, polished gameplay, more quests to complete.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes , i planning to raise the price a bit in the final version of the game, as i ship new contents, new weapons, attachments, areas, loots, etc.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Regular communication through Discord , social media, and email to share updates, gather feedback, and address community concerns fosters a sense of transparency and inclusivity.

Participating in Q&A sessions, live streams, and community events enables direct interaction between developers and players, fostering a sense of collaboration and shared enthusiasm for the game.”

Welcome Survivor!

The Thing That Happened is an Openworld Third Person - Action Adventure Survial game.

In a post-apocalyptic world, Torque who arrived in the city of Jericho. The city was in ruins, with remnants of an old civilization scattered everywhere. Torque had been traveling for days, scavenging for food and supplies to survive in this harsh new world.

As Torque entered Jericho, he was met with a desolate landscape - crumbling buildings, overgrown vegetation, and a sense of eerie silence. The once bustling city was now a ghost town, haunted by the memories of its former glory.

Facing challenges such as scarce resources, hostile gangs, and the constant threat of danger, Torque and his newfound companions worked tirelessly to fortify their makeshift home. They repurposed old buildings, set up defenses, and established a system for gathering supplies and maintaining security.

Though the world around them remained harsh and unforgiving, the spirit of resilience and community in Jericho served as a beacon of hope in the face of adversity. Torque's journey in the post-apocalyptic city of Jericho was a testament to the human capacity for survival, adaptation, and the enduring will to rebuild even in the bleakest of circumstances.

Achived with Unreal Engine 5.2

I'm a solo developer , please keep that in mind.
I used UE marketplace / Sketsfab assets, just like most of the indie developers and many big title's does.
I released the full potential of the game engine, i used nanite, and lumen technology for the best results.

Good luck Torque!
