Waarom vroegtijdige toegang?

'Portal Brawlers is a games firmly seated in Retro design philosophy, and is aiming to appeal to fans of original Arcade-style brawlers.
While we are absolutely excited about what we have made, the community feedback from fans of the genre will help pull Portal Brawlers into its final state.
Mechanics are solid, the feel is right where we want it, but balancing that Arcade difficuly is something we want to do with an open and honest community discussion.
Early Access remains the best way to do that.'

'We have always planned for additional levels, an additional playable character and a more linear, classicl "Arcade" style gameplay mode where you can play through the levels in a set order without returning to the "Tavern" scene.

Most areas of the game are expandable based on community feedback (additional weapons, potions, spells, levels...)'

Community is essential for balancing the game to the perfect difficulty - wave composition, resource scarcity, etc. as well as just refinding what it is about this style of game that people are most excited about.'

Portal Brawlers is a side-scrolling Beat'em'Up in the tradition of Golden Axe and Streets of Rage, set in a beautiful fantasy world and embracing the tropes of classic fantasy storytelling.

Choose from Thunk the Barbarian or Omar the Dwarf and battle your way through gorgeous, classic Arcade-style Beat'Em'Up Gameplay!

Combining classic brawler design with RPG-Lite Elements like Potions, Equipment and Magic and with a variety of weapons to wield, the players must travel across the land to discover who is behind the mysterious portals that are spreading foul, crystalline corruption - and punch 'em!

Something has been opening ancient Portals around the (unofficially named) isle of Thunkgaria, spilling forth a foul corruption and consuming the land. Native species both hostile and docile are being taken over and driven mad, causing chaos and confusion and leaving several importan questions open for our brave adventurers...

Portal Brawlers builds an Equipment system into the classic Arcade formula, allowing for new ways to tackle classic encounters, along with our other exciting features!

  • Find and fight with a ton of weapons, or sheathe them to save them for later and rely on your fists for a while!

  • Block and Parry attacks with shields, deciding between a guaranteed damage reduction or a well-timed parry that can stun your opponent!

  • Wear Magic armour, giving you passive resistance bonuses... or expend it to unleash a powerful blast of magic!

  • Unleash the awesome destructive power of Magic Scrolls, and make them even stronger between missions with the help of the friendly Wizard, Wizzo!

  • The Level Hub (our beautiful Tavern) lets you tackle levels in any order you choose! Current level punching back too hard? Go for a change of scenery in a totally different location!
